Context And Mission

BSC is looking for a candidate to take responsibility for maximising the exploitation potential of research results within EU-funded R&D projects, this will involve supervising the work of others.

The position will be based in the Reseach Support, Transfer and Dissemination (RSTD) area of BSC, and the winning candidate will report to the Head of RSTD.

Key Duties

  • Define and carry out tasks aimed at maximizing the exploitation of results generated within R&D projects (Horizon Europe or similar), during the whole life-cycle from proposal to execution and closing.
  • The candidate selected will :

    oIdentify and manage relevant project Intellectual Property (in coordination with BSC's Technology Transfer Office)

    oElaborate exploitation plans

    oManage Industrial Advisory Boards

    oOrganize and attend relevant events

    oElaborate sustainability plans

    oOrganize and chair meetings and teleconferences

    oWrite, edit and correct formal project documents (including contractual deliverables and project proposals)

    oRepresent BSC and its projects in meetings (including project reviews)

    oCoordinate the work of multiple contributing partners, monitor their activity and compile their contributions

    oEstablish and monitor Key Performance Indicators

  • Supervise one or more staff (also performing the above tasks) who will report directly to the selected candidate.
  • oDistribute work within the area and take steps to make sure that the work is covered at all times

    oDefine annual objectives for each staff member under their responsibility.

    oTake the lead in recruitment processes

    oIdentify training needs and promote training for the staff

  • Education
  • University Degree (in ICT area a plus)
  • Master’s degree in related area is a plus
  • Related courses in innovation, project management and research project proposal preparation a plus
  • Essential Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • At least 5 years’ experience in innovation management and / or research project management / coordination
  • Experience writing deliverables and project proposals
  • Experience coordinating the work of multiple partners (including H2020, Horizon Europe consortia,etc)
  • Experience working with companies in the technology sector
  • Fluency in English essential
  • Additional Knowledge and Professional Experience
  • Experience managing teams
  • Competences
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel
  • Used to working autonomously and taking the initiative
  • Used to working under pressure with strict deadlines
  • Good report writing skills essential (in English)
  • Good skills in word processing, spreadsheets and presentation applications (Word, Excel and PowerPoint or equivalents)
  • Conditions

  • The position will be located at BSC within the Directors Department

  • Duration : Temporary - 2,5 years renewable
  • Salary : we offer a competitive salary commensurate with the qualifications and experience of the candidate and according to the cost of living in Barcelona
