You will be in charge of developing and managing a diverse engineering team. The responsibilities of a Director of engineering include scaling and leading a team of developers / engineers / architects, improving engineering processes / tools and collaborating with the product team to build phenomenal multi-functional teams.
Among other tasks, you’ll be involved in the following activities :
Leading the engineering team through management and mentorship.
Contributing to recruitment activities to scale the team from 10 engineers to over 40 in 2 years
Owning delivery, reliability and uptime. Developing standards and processes to ensure that quality standards are met consistently based on data.
Recommending technological developments / architecture and improving inefficiency.
Using your quantitative and qualitative engineering insights to build and reinforce engineering team culture and translate this directly into the Alaya product.
Empowering your capable direct reports with autonomy while monitoring the pulse of the broader engineering organization.

Who we’re looking for :
So, are you the ideal match?
Minimum of 10 years of professional experience working in Engineering in the SaaS sector.
Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in a senior engineering leadership role, managing multiple people, scaling the Engineering team of other startups & companies and successfully reaching ambitious targets.
Strong experience working within an agile environment with multiple squads and delivering products that delight customers .
You have strong leadership ability, with communication and interpersonal skills that inspire and motivate team members and peers.
Excellent English proficiency. Any other language is a plus.
You are confident, enjoy and thrive in a working environment in which there are a large number of people to keep in touch with everyday.
You have a rigorous work ethic and pay great attention to details.
