Join the RWE renewables team as a Wind SCADA & Communications Engineer supporting Offshore Wind Energy projects in Europe and APAC and help us shape the future of renewable energy.
Your future plans
Ensure the delivery of the HV / Substation and WTG SCADA Systems of our Offshore Windfarms during Development and Construction and the operation in their subsequent Operational phases
Define and develop Technical Specifications
Review designs made by Contractors and Suppliers
Design System Interfaces
Supervise Contractors Quality and Acceptance Tests and ensure that they are performed to specification and documented (FAT and SAT)
Supervise Supplier Commissioning Activities and review their results
Support our operations team on troubleshooting and maintaining the associated systems
Actively participate in and progress projects focusing on SCADA, targeting the optimisation of the Monitoring and Control capabilities and data availability
Be an active member of an international team in which knowledge, experience, successes and lessons learnt are continuously shared
Enable good working relationship and knowledge exchange with other teams within the renewables business
Your profile
University Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical or engineering discipline
Experience in HV / Substation and WTG SCADA used in Offshore Wind and their infrastructure
Experience in control systems, automation, SCADA, PLC's, RTU's and IED's
Experience in Industrial Communication Protocols (especially OPC-family, Modbus, IEC- and MMS) and their network specific behaviours
Willingness to learn about the Communication Systems commonly used in Offshore Windfarms : Tetra, VHF, 4G, IP Telephony Previous knowledge or experience is a plus
Knowledge in SQL-Server Query and Virtualization Platforms like VMware is a plus
Knoledge or experience in Cyber Security requirements for Critical Infrastructures is a plus
Ability to carry on risk analysis and implement mitigation plans
Ability to handle multiple assignments as needed and plan them dependant on project priority
Fluent in written and spoken English
