About You and this Role

As the Product Line Manager for Experience Management at Liferay, you will be part of the global Product Management team.

Your primary responsibility is to increase the profitability and market fit of the Experience Management capabilities across the product portfolio that support targeted solutions built on the platform.

You will work alongside other product line managers to ensure the entire product portfolio is aligned towards providing a cohesive and connected set of capabilities that come together to ultimately provide greater value to our customers.

You will help build products from existing ideas, and help develop new ideas based on your industry experience and your contact with customers and prospects.

You must have a unique blend of technical and business savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality.

You must enjoy spending time with customers and prospects to understand their problems, and collaborate with the product development teams to discover innovative solutions for the market.

You must be able to communicate with all areas of the company. You will work with management to ensure alignment with company goals and vision.

You will work with portfolio messaging to define the go -to- market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning and differentiation of our offering.

You will also serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, directly working with the sales team and key customers.

This role can be based in Madrid or in any other European location where Liferay has offices (London, Paris, Frankfurt, Dublin, Budapest, Helsinki, Milan...)

Key Objectives

  • You will recruit and lead a team of high performing product managers, helping to develop their craft and career paths.
  • While you may not manage every team member directly, you will set an example for the entire team with your works and actions that reflect the culture of Liferay.

  • You must develop products and features from ideation to launch and iteration. Enable high-quality, timely execution of product launches.
  • Define and analyze metrics to measure the success of products released. A product manager will always be judged by the products they deliver.

  • You must understand Liferay's strategic position and deliver innovative products that align with this strategy. It is your responsibility to build an understanding and communicate the product’s vision, the business case, as well as compiling the product planning material necessary for driving product initiatives further with clarity and consensus.
  • You will be responsible for developing, defining, and overseeing the product’s strategy and roadmap and managing it as required for the purpose of meeting deliverables for the business.
  • You are responsible for engaging extensively with customers in order to gain first hand insight on the customer and market feedback on the business’s product.
  • You must translate those insights into hypotheses, tests and features for how we can improve the product. It will be up to you to uncover new business opportunities for us that solve true customer pain points and their most pressing needs.

  • Your role is one of a cross-functional nature and as such, you will be expected to work with other product managers, business analysts, tech leads, and department heads to harmonize products across Liferay.
  • You will work intimately with the marketing department to develop marketing strategies.

    Required Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the DXP market.
  • 5+ years of software product management experience.
  • Knowledgeable in technology : computer science or engineering degree is a plus.
  • Ability to speak and write English fluently. Your teammates will be in the Americas, Asia and Europe.
  • Be able to lead by influence and vision, rather than through direct reporting authority.
  • This position requires travel to customer and non -customer sites.
  • Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience leading product managers.
  • Good team player. You’ll be part of the Liferay family and this is important for us.

  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
