In the Centre of Industrial Electronics (CEI) at Universidad Politécnica de Madrid (UPM), we are looking for a highly motivated and talented PhD student in the field of self-adaptive reconfigurable embedded systems.
As part of the position, the PhD candidate will be involved in research activities related to the following topics :
Run-time monitoring of software and hardware components in MPSoC-based reconfigurable multi-accelerator systems.
Automatic extraction of lightweight models from the information produced by the integrated monitors, using machine learning techniques.
Machine learning algorithms for run-time management of reconfigurable multi-accelerator systems to guarantee the continuous optimization, reconfiguration, and management of the reconfigurable accelerators.
Virtualization techniques and OS support for the deployment of dynamically reconfigurable hardware accelerators in MPSoCs, fostering interoperability and flexible computation offloading.
The expected application scenario will be the field of predictive maintenance in Industry applications, as part of distributed / federated learning frameworks.
The PhD candidate will be part of a highly international and enthusiastic team. This 3-year position will be funded within the H2020 KYKLOS (An Advanced Circular and Agile Manufacturing Ecosystem based on the rapid reconfigurable manufacturing process and individualized consumer preferences) project ().
The three-year PhD grant includes health insurance coverage and a gross salary of 18,200 € in 12 monthly pays. Expenses for attending conferences,
