The selected candidate will be part of the 3D printing multi-disciplinary R&D team located in Barcelona but with strong collaborations with international locations.

Summary of job opening
We are looking for an experienced Industrial Electronics and Automation Control Engineer to work as an R&D industrial electrical architect in the 3DP Lab.
Responsibilities include stablishing a roadmap architecture base on PLCs and help influencing R&D community to move into Digital Manufacturing.
His / her main tasks will be :
In collaboration with the Masters and Experts from all the disciplines and functions, help defining an electrical architecture roadmap for the future plastics and metals 3D platforms, in the journey to industrial, highly automated solutions.
Introduce latest technologies and trends in industrial design, automation systems, topologies, design techniques and design for manufacturing innovations into our systems.
Define the electrical system architecture based on PLCs and establish the final product solutions for 3D industrial market.
Participate in the customers’ requirements process, identifying major roadblocks, exploring acceptable compromises and propose architectural solutions.
And on early phases of product delivery, provide high level technical support for customer installations.
Take ownership of the resolution for the most complex issues related with the electrical disciple. Provide robust understanding of complex product or technology issues, identify and implement solutions.
Improve EE (Electrical Engineers) group efficiency identifying and outsourcing non-core activities to external partners.
Ensure full integration of the EE assets into the final product.
Assure regulatory compliance for 3D industrial project following Regulatory department guidelines.
Lead multidisciplinary teams to achieve common goals.
Deploy industrial architecture and development knowledge to the rest of the team and key engineers in adjacent areas.
Create a solid network of contact within HP's EE community and keep in tight contact with our partner in other Labs / Business to maximize reuse and share in both directions.
Provide input on any new product / platform development. Assess with the Program Managers and Sections Managers the feasibility, schedule and resources needed for different system electronics concepts.
Education, skills and experience
Master's or PhD degree in Industrial Electronics and Automatic Control Engineering or equivalent, with minimum 8 years of relevant work experience as an Electrical / Industrial and automation engineer and / or PLC programming / Automated systems / SCADA
Will value having led or actively participated in starting up (or transforming) a business into the industrial manufacturing space.
Deep knowledge in Industrial instrumentation, data analytics, machine learning, digital twin.
Knowledge in industrial protocols like : ProfiNet, OPC-UA, Can Open. Programming skills (general purpose languages such as C / C++, or Phyton, Ladder).
PLC Siemens TIA PORTAL knowledge is a must.
Deep understanding of Electronics, electrical schematics for cabinets and cabling development and testing processes. CAD tools and testing will be valued.
Desired knowledge with 3D printing technologies and state of the art in Additive Manufacturing.
Very good understanding of Quality, Environmental and Regulations techniques and processes. Specially knowledge in Industrial Safety certifications.
Experience in industrial / harsh environment ATEX will be valued.
Demonstrated knowledge and competences in general engineering methodologies, including project management tools, product life cycles, architecture processes, problem solving methodologies and process improvement techniques.
Excellent teamwork and interpersonal skills. Candidate must demonstrate capability to effectively build a team, get buy in on approach to be taken and implement agreed actions.
Excellent in communications skills. Fluent spoken and written English.
