We have an exciting opportunity within our Animal Health organization as an Associate Director Project Management .

Purpose of the position

The Associate Director Project Management is a core role that partners with team leaders to plan and execute Animal Health (AH) business objectives.

In this position you will drive cross-functional teams to deliver projects and products that are critical to the success of the Animal health business.

You will need to manage a scope a scope of up to 200 projects, providing insight and oversight to sponsors and stakeholders.

You will be an active member and or leader of cross-functional governance committees and you will be expected to contribute to ongoing business process improvements and talent development in AH.

You will be is responsible for the development, sustainment, and training of project management tools and business processes.

This position can be based in Europe at or near an AH manufacturing site or office (preferable in Netherlands, Germany or France) and needs to travel approximately 25-30% within EU.

Pharmaceutical Technology Solutions (PTS) is an organization that is responsible for support to Small Molecule internal and external manufacturing sites of active pharmaceutical ingredients (API’s) and finished drug products.

As such PTS leads API process and source changes, drug product process changes, technology transfers from R&D to supply and between supply sites, process improvement initiatives and equipment capital projects.

Main responsibilities

Strategic Planning and Goal setting

  • Contributing to, synthesizing, and articulating program strategy and translating it into execution.
  • For larger multi project initiatives the PMO will also track resources and funds and liaises on behalf of the initiative with Finance if needed
  • Project Prioritization and alignment

  • Resource planning : providing insight in project load per function and per site, making visible potential clashes and offering solutions on level loading projects to sites and functions
  • Project execution and governance

  • Ensuring project schedules and risk management plans are fully developed and updated, governance contracts are adhered to, change control procedures are followed, and communications within and from the team are clear and effective
  • Leveraging relationships and networks to improve and enhance team dynamics; proactively identifying and removing obstacles to drive business resus
  • PMO will be an active member of governance bodies (CMO restructuring, API restructuring, Network related transfers, Major R&D projects, etc.)
  • Project Documentation and archives

  • Preparing regular reports that summarize project status / issues and documents / presentations for senior management / governance committees
  • Assisting projects leaders with the reporting of project progress through dashboards and appropriate 4-ups
  • Maintaining accurate project data in enterprise databases
  • Process improvement, People and Standard Development :

  • Onboard new technical project leads on project management and project management tools
  • Providing mentoring, coaching, and oversight to project managers
  • Development of templates and standard work to drive efficiencies
  • Your profile

  • Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in a scientific-related discipline strongly preferred
  • Six (6) years in a PM related role / expertise in pharma and / or biotech
  • Project Management Certification (PMP) or formal coursework / training in project management preferred
  • Ability to work within a matrix organization and leverage expertise from other functions and departments
  • Proven self-starter and able to influence senior leaders
  • Appreciates and respects diversity, cultures, and norms
  • Works independently with all levels of the organization, and has demonstrated the following skills
