Global Fire Detection, Johnson Controls has a position for a Technical Support Region Supervisor for the Fire Detection Business focussing on the Zettler and FireClass Brands for the Southern Europe region.

The role will focus on taking the lead in all Technical Support matters for the Southern Europe region. This will include day to day management of the technical support staff within the region ensuring that customer technical requests and enquiries are dealt with in an efficient and timely manner.

You will take the lead within the Southern Europe region and ensure that all functions (Hotline, Field Support and Training) are suitably resourced and available when required.

Frequent travel may be required in this role. The role will also require you to be aware of the main projects in the Southern Europe region and ensure that customers designing fire detection systems are assisted and also to facilitate on-

site support as and when required. You will also take the lead for the Southern Europe region in identifying and highlighting technical issues and bugs that may require R&D input.

The position will report to the Technical Support Manager in the UK. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Day to day Management of the Technical Support Function within your Region.
  • Line management responsibility for 5-8 technical support representatives.
  • On-going daily use of Online and other support tools such as Salesforce to ensure that support KPI's for your Region are achieved and maintained.
  • Identification, verification and appropriate communication of reported issues when R&D involvement is thought to be required for resolution.
  • Appropriate communication of issues with other departments such as QA and Product Management
  • Technical Support of FireClass and ZETTLER products via email and telephone. In addition control and facilitation of any required site visits within your Region.
  • Facilitate any required training that requires to be delivered by your team as per agreement with the Training manager.
  • Giving support at trade exhibitions, show activities, events and demonstrations as required.
  • Assist and give any kind of pre and after sales technical support both to the customers, resolving issues via phone, mail or directly, than to internal functions being involved in all technical activities including production, translation and review of technical documents or creation of demonstration, presentation, demo panels, etc.
  • Support Sales team in specific requests and also with reports, analysis and feedback.
  • Helping with translation / proof reading for your Regional languages if required. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED Bachelor degree in electronics (not a must, but preferable) or equivalent work experience Relevant experience in Fire Detection market (technical experience is preferred) with good knowledge of fire detection products Fluent in Spanish and English (written and oral) Fluent in one other language Good Knowledge of Fire Detection standards (EN54, etc.
  • Preferred knowledge of System integration with building management systems Project management skills Minimum experience in fire detection : 5+ years Specialized Skills

  • Technical knowledge of installation aspects and programming procedures for fire detection systems and the ability to learn new products together with an overall technical awareness.
  • Business acumen and drive for results, Ability to work under pressure, self-motivating, proven stability.
  • Able to represent the company in front of consultants and customers : Proven presentation skills and experience in conducting technical and commercial meetings.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in a positive and professional manner : Action oriented, customer focused and creative.
  • Professional judgment based on the analysis of information
  • Screens, categorizes and resolves / reports issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, Strong organizational skills, Team working and problem solving oriented : Demonstrate ability to systematically identify and help customers to find a suitable solution.
