Your Role & Responsibilities

The Global Lead Buyer is considered to cover a functional management role within the Purchasing organization.

Provide technical and business leadership to the buyers.

Oversee and coordinate ongoing cost saving activities.

Priorize tasks within the Purchasing organisation.

Actively develop the supplier panel in cooperation with the regions and projects.

Gather a purchasing strategy

Act as a global escalation step within the Purchasing Organisation to support buyers in challenging situations.

Your Skills & Strengths

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Industrial)

3+ years of related commodity purchasing experience in a Tier 1 environment for commodities with a global purchasing approach.

Previous exposure or participation in VA / VE and re-engineering is a plus

Detailed knowledge of markets of the assigned commodities, ideally the electronic components (Active / Passive) markets.

Knowledge in the area of strategy development and implementation of global commodity and supplier strategies.

Successful history with the consistent understanding and use of cost drivers and market dynamics in the assigned commodities.

Negotiation (commercial and contract), cost analysis, market analysis, continuous improvement, time and project management skills.

Problem Solving Skills : must be able to identify key issues, effectively coordinate efforts to achieve resolution cross functionally & globally while maintaining communication with key stakeholders.

Risk Management Skills : proven ability to work under high pressure and tight deadlines. Must be able to manage / lead multiple projects and tasks simultaneously.

Fluent in English, other languages are a plus.

Ability to relate & adapt to different cultures.

Knowledge of logistics, manufacturing processes, commodity markets and a strong understanding of the assigned commodities.

Strong knowledge of SAP
