Due to our exciting partnership with Gilead Sciences Inc. we are looking for a Value and Market Access (V&MA) Leader - Spain

Scope of the job

The Value & Market Access (V&MA) function at Galapagos will be responsible for demonstrating and communicating the value of Galapagos and our products to ensure that patients in Spain have timely access to treatments that improve and extend their lives.

This person will ensure market access for Galapagos products in line with Global and Local objectives. It includes defining the local V&MA strategy, preparing P&R applications and future launches, and providing strategic, technical and methodological input in cross-functional teams at local and global levels.

The V&MA Leader will draw on his / her network with key influencers and decision makers to facilitate optimal market access for Galapagos products.

Your role

  • Develop and execute local pricing and market access strategy through collaboration with Medical, Health Economics, Policy, and Commercial colleagues.
  • Partner with the local business unit manager or commercial leader to define the national pricing proposals and negotiation strategy in line with corporate guidance.
  • Innovate in delivering value propositions and solutions that address local payer needs and company requirements.
  • Develop and write reimbursement applications, including adaptation of health economic models to the local situation, for new products and for line extensions to obtain the inclusion of the product in the list of reimbursed products at the best possible reimbursement conditions.
  • Conduct the training of Regional or Key Account Market Access Managers on the sub-national contracting and tendering strategy.
  • Monitor closely the change in the legislation, the local P&R environment (including competition) and guidelines, proactively shape the market and assess the potential impact for the business and provide consultancy to the relevant internal stakeholders.
  • Participate as Value & Market Access representative for Italy in local operating company (LOC) and above-country meetings, where relevant.
  • Provide input to internal stakeholders on local needs for market access success of pipeline products and potential new assets.
  • Maintain an independent network with relevant representatives of government bodies, external experts, institutes, and industry associations.
  • In collaboration with Medical, ensure timely outcomes of real world evidence (RWE) initiatives to optimize value demonstration and lead disease advocacy activities with KOLs, patient organizations, and health authorities.
  • Who are you?

    You are a professional preferably with a Master in sciences, economics or equivalent graduate degree.

    You have at least 7-year experience in healthcare / pharmaceutical industry, more specifically in Market Access. Regulatory and Public Affairs experience is a plus.

    You have knowledge of the political environment, the organization of healthcare systems and the legislation about pharmaceutical products in Spain.

    You are someone with superior analytical skills who can figure out tough problems and craft thoughtful, clear, and innovative solutions towards payer success.

    You have high attention to detail and excellent project management skills, in a fast-paced environment, with demonstrated ability to lead multiple workstreams and priorities.

    You have proven ability to manage relationships with external customers at the highest level in the country.

    You are here to work within Galapagos to unlock the value that our medicines bring to patients, HCPs through smart success with payers.

    Last but not least you are fluent in Spanish and have outstanding written and verbal communication skills in English.
