The IT Director's role is to ensure sustainable, customer focused and highly reliable IT-services as well as to achieve MSA’s goals of a streamlined and highly business oriented IT team.

This includes realizing global IT strategies, implementing global and local plans across all our European sites, as well as supervising the execution of days to day activities.

Ensure strong collaboration with Corporate IT, local IT organizations as well as all relevant European business leaders.

The area of responsibilities are :

  • Major responsibilities

    Leading the IT-function across Europe

  • Develops, directs, coaches, and mentors’ team in line with the goals of the organization to build a high performing, engaged, and motivated team
  • Strong and positive relationship with the business leadership teams in Europe
  • Foster and support IT Shared Services to leverage synergies and enhance IT support model
  • Strong partnership with Corporate IT Teams on strategy execution and support
  • Manage regional financial aspects, like Budget-planning, monitoring of actual situation and initiating steps for further improvements and MSA’s profitability in European region
  • Developing, implementing, monitoring and enhancing IT-internal benchmarks
  • Manage vendor and 3rd party service providers by negotiating SLAs, services and financial aspects
  • Implement and maintain local IT systems and processes

  • Lead IT-department tactical and operations planning including internal and external resources
  • Establish, promote, and enforce standards to ensure security, reliability, and stability for the European IT landscape
  • Proactively plan for IT growth and business needs
  • Develop, implement, manage and improve network technologies and services and oversee the regional network technology infrastructure in close alignment and support with Corporate IT teams
  • Foster and further develop 1st and 2nd level IT-support capabilities across Europe
  • Ensure datacenters / computer rooms environmental and security controls are suitable and maintained
  • Ensure PC and Server Software License Compliance across European IT landscape
  • Identify and communicate, escalate where necessary, critical risks and possible failures
  • Support global and drive regional projects and activities

  • Manage multiple concurrent project plans to effectively implement information technology solutions in alignment and support with the Corporate IT teams;
  • communicate the scope, goals, deliverables and significant milestones; support the local European IT teams to achieve those goals.

  • Effectively communicate project expectations with team members and project stakeholders. Proactively identify, communicate and resolve project issues
  • Evaluate local needs and options to implement, modify or uninstall systems and interfaces in a standardized and harmonized way
  • Lead & Support Mergers and Acquisition activities and location consolidations for European region in close coordination with Corporate IT Teams
  • Support, monitor and fostering Cyber-security levels

  • Apply, adhere to and enforce corporate cyber-security standards, policies, and procedures to ensure alignment with global cyber-security program
  • Participate in the evaluation of new services to ensure Cyber Security baseline thresholds
  • Actively support and remediate security vulnerabilities and prioritize all these efforts
  • Provide regular communications to local management and business users
  • Align with the IT-teams in Corporate to ensure standardization and efficiency on periodical and exceptional task and activities
  • Ensure compliance of various frameworks (SOX, ISO 27001, Cyber, necessary, Essentials) and Data-privacy regulations and laws to avoid risks for MSA, related to the processed data, in particular of our employees and customers
  • Experience

  • Leading and developing IT Team across Europe with diverse technical skills to ensure sustainable, customer focused and highly reliable IT-services
  • Proven skills to assist in driving process improvement, standardizations and advancement of IT tools and technology
  • Embracing and driving global and regional IT Change Management
  • Good knowledge across all aspects of IT infrastructure
  • IT disaster recovery plans, testing and documentation across Europe
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of Cyber Security principles
  • Budget planning and monitoring
  • Management of vendor relationships / 3rd party service providers
  • People Management
  • Experience (preferred)

  • Governance and compliance experience with SOX controls, GDPR and Security Frameworks
  • Governance of IT-landscape in cross-regional sites
  • Basic knowledge of SAP-ECC to manage business and Compliance oriented activities (Budget, P2P, SOX, GDPR)
  • Leading a diverse and heterogeneous team in various European countries
  • Microsoft solutions (SharePoint, O365, OneDrive)
  • SaaS and Cloud-services
  • Led or actively supported Acquisition / Mergers IT Integration Strategy
  • Education

    Degree in Information Science or Technology or similar

  • Project Management tools like SCRUM or similar
