Within the entire Oracle ecosystems, the Public Cloud Pursuit Team is a focused group of Cloud Technologies experts across EMEA whose mission is to support strategic deals with IaaS components.

They work on complex architectures composed of mixed workloads articulating Oracle’s Cloud full value proposition.

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting into the EMEA Cloud Pursuit Team Leader, the IaaS architect is responsible for providing deep dive expertise in IaaS, as well as PaaS services, to assist sales and presales across EMEA region increasing Oracle business value.

The Cloud Pursuit Team enable presales Cloud IaaS and PaaS communities on related technologies.

The IaaS architect assist local teams identifying and expanding PaaS and IaaS opportunities, collaborating with Sales, Presales, Customer Success Managers, Product Development, Consulting and Partners.

Expanded Responsibilities

  • Serve as the key point of contact for IaaS deep dive expertise related activities
  • Serve as the voice of the field to provide feedback to IaaS Product Management and Product Development organizations
  • Serve as the technical relay of the Go-to-Market Corporate program with specific focus on various sales plays
  • Partner with internal Oracle stakeholders to align IaaS related activities with the customer's business case and strategy
  • Prepare and educate customers on new features and releases
  • Monitor and identify adoption and utilization trends, provide recommendations based on risk and customers’ business needs
  • Operate and key conduit for knowledge transfer to field presales communities
  • Experience & Qualifications

  • Five to ten years of experience supporting all stages of the Cloud deployment lifecycle from development to integration and operations.
  • With a core focus on Infrastructure-as-a-Service components, including Bare Metal

  • Broad knowledge and experience in Public Cloud ecosystem and IT infrastructure elements. In depth knowledge of Network architecture, including security components
  • Broad knowledge and experience of Microsoft technologies (Azure, SQL server, .Net, )
  • Broad knowledge and experience of IaaS competition (AWS, Azure, GCP, Bluemix, )
  • An understanding of application development and deployment concepts (Containers and Micro-services) and tools that enable successful Public Cloud transformation and organizational acceptance.
  • Experience in a customer-facing, role such as architect, consultant or solutions engineer in the Cloud ecosystem
  • Excellent communication skills, external customer communication, but also internal communication
  • Enthusiasm, energy and ability to evangelize and expand the footprint of seeded markets in the public cloud platform
  • Strong team spirit while living in a distributed environment
  • Flexibility, this is a high growth area that requires agility
  • Fluent English as well as local language mandatory
  • Ability to travel up to 40%
  • Detailed Description and Job Requirements

  • Provides direction and specialist knowledge in applying the technology / application to client business. Facilitation of customer product / application understanding through presentations demonstrations and benchmarks;
  • provision of support throughout the sell.

    As a Principal Sales Consultant you will be responsible as the expert for formulating and leading presales technical / functional support activity to prospective clients and customers while ensuring customer satisfaction.

    Acts as a technical resource and mentor for less experienced Sales Consultants. Focuses on large or complex sales opportunities that need creative and complex solutions.

    Develops productivity tools and training for other Sales Consultants. Develops and delivers outstanding Oracle presentations and demonstrations.

    Leads any and all aspects of the technical sales process. Advises internal and external clients on overall architect solutions.

    Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. Work is non-routine and very complex, involving the application of advanced technical / business skills in area of specialization.

    3 years vendor (sales and marketing) experience. 7 years business experience with relevant computer applications or database / tools.

    Ability to implement the most advanced product features. Thorough knowledge of system and application design. In depth knowledge of competitors.

    Demonstrated project management skills. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills : needs analysis, positioning, business justification, closing techniques.

    Ability to persuade others through presentations, demonstrations, and written communication. Ability to travel as needed.

    A / BS degree or equivalent, advanced degree highly desirable.
