We have an opportunity for an experienced Asset Manager to join our Spanish team. You'll be responsible for managing a portfolio of European solar PV assets on behalf of Solarcentury and our external investors.

Working in conjunction with other members of the Asset Management team, particularly the London office, you'll provide oversight and management of all aspects of our commercial assets, from financial close, the construction phase and during operations, to maximise returns / revenues and to ensure appropriate cost control measures and standards are achieved and maintained in operational safety and financial efficiency.

In this role you'll be managing projects, understanding all the project agreements and terms, the financial modelling and reporting on any issues including conflict of interest.

The role involves coordinating with both internal and external stakeholders, financial institutions and their advisors, project investors, technical advisers, legal and other professional advisors, off takers, regulatory bodies, local authorities, service providers and our internal teams including development, finance, O&M and data analysis.

Key activities and responsibilities :

  • Providing financial management services, including management, maintenance and upgrading of the Project financial model.
  • Preparation of annual statutory accounts to meet all regulatory requirements (including liaising with auditors).
  • Preparing quarterly unaudited management accounts in respect of the relevant projects.
  • Forecasting and managing project cash flows ensuring compliance with relevant debt facility agreements.
  • Overseeing the accounting tasks performed by outsourced local accountants.
  • Maintaining the minute book and statutory registers including but not limited to the register of members and the register of directors.
  • Procuring, obtaining and maintaining relevant insurances, including liaising with insurers as required.
  • Management of community and public relations in respect of the Project.
  • Working with Technical Asset Managers to ensure the effective supervision, co-ordination with, and monitoring of the operation and maintenance services in order to maximise generation revenues.
  • Working with the Data Analysis team to analyse the irradiance based on the measurements on site and the irradiation based on the integration of irradiance.
  • Providing general commercial support to ensure compliance with the terms of the Project Agreements, including reviewing the relevant agreements.
  • Management of relationships with landlords and tenants.
  • Liaising and co-ordinating with the relevant regulatory authorities and monitoring compliance and procurement of third party legal advice as required.
  • Recommend any amendments to the financial model the Manager considers necessary in accordance with the terms of all Project Agreements.
  • Managing any disputes or referrals to any relevant experts which may arise or be made from time to time in relation to the Project.
  • Liaising with the Data Analysis team to calculate and account for any bonuses and / or liquidated damages under the O&M Contract as they arise.
  • Preparing monthly and quarterly generation / availability statistics vs. operating budget reports.
  • Working with the Technical Asset Manager to provide quarterly Health, Safety & Environment reporting.
  • Applicants should have :

  • A Bachelor's Degree in business, finance, accounting or relevant discipline.
  • Experience in Asset Management with a track record of monitoring and managing large scale projects.
  • Ability to work with financial concepts and financial analysis including ROI, IRR and discounted cash flow modelling.
  • Awareness of policy and regulatory frameworks applicable to asset management.
  • Knowledge of the European renewable energy industry and key market trends would be advantageous.
  • Basic knowledge of solar PV plant operation and maintenance.
  • Experience of risk identification and risk management.
  • Experience of dealing with commercial contracts along with proven ability to monitor contractors.
  • Experience in budget management; including monitoring and reporting.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish.
