Robot & Discrete Automation, Auto Tier 1, Global Solution Center Plastics

You will drive long-term profitable growth of ABB portfolio within the Auto Tier 1 / Global Solution Center Plastics globally.

Reporting to the Tier 1 operation manager and GSC manager, you will develop and manage Plastics portfolio through all life-cycle phases, according to market needs and Product Group strategy and targets.

Your responsibilities

  • Managing and developing overall business with financial objectives and be responsible for setting a product vision and strategy for defined responsibility area.
  • Owning the portfolio and roadmap and be responsible for defining, in detail, the why’, what’ and when’ of the product that the R&D engineering team will build.
  • Leading and managing product positioning and marketing mix strategy (5P). Understanding market and customer needs, user experiences (CUX) and identifying profitable opportunities, managing price positioning and differentiation & value proposition.
  • Responsible for Product Life Cycle Management from specification to end of life. Meeting the market demands and defining necessary face lifts.
  • Overseeing products already in the market and developing actions to keep them delivering their targets.
  • Leading market intelligence analysis, defining market segmentation and identifying potential portfolio gaps, both against the competition and new market opportunities, globally.
  • Developing a Plastic Portfolio in Tier 1 customers business plan that drives and supports profitable growth, tracking performance metrics and implementing appropriate measures for maximum and sustained profitability.
  • Continuously developing product management processes and tools, developing sales and tendering tools to support the Sales organization and initiating the creation of external and internal product training modules and programs.
  • Collaborating with global Marketing and Sales teams to define marketing plans, including marketing communication activities, training activities and sales initiatives.
  • Driving profitability and life cycle of Plastic Portfolio by defining global pricing strategies and managing global frame agreements.
  • Initiating and driving cross-functional and cross-organization product and solution innovation teams, monitoring the development of all standards and market trends and providing input to Research & Development (R&D) for patent-screening processes and intellectual property rights protection.
  • Defining the Plastic Portfolio customer value proposition per segment and channel, ensuring clear communication to channels and users and delivering clear positioning within the portfolio.
  • Driving the annual business planning process, facilitating agreements between sales demand and supply and monitoring global sales target fulfilment and tender volumes as well as taking action as appropriate.
  • Developing a strong global team, inspiring and motivating employees to achieve stretch targets.

  • Your background

  • An engineer in Robotics or similar, will valued additional studies in business
  • More than 5 years of experience in Auto / Tier 1, working as sales / project manager / business developer / R&D with robotics and / or automatization industry.
  • Sound knowledge of Robotics and the Auto / Tier 1 market.
  • Leadership experience in sales, engineering and operational projects.
  • Experience in strategic and operational planning, with profit and loss responsibility, in a multinational organization.
  • Ability to anticipate customer needs and market trends.
  • Strong, well-developed communication, influencing, coaching and leadership skills.
