The Virtual Validation Lab. is a transversal team of the Electronics Department of Applus IDIADA offering a full simulation platform to validate active systems in the areas of ADAS&CAV, Vehicle Dynamics and Powertrain.
As a Virtual Validation Engineer, your mission will be being involved in simulation projects related to different XiL Simulation methodologies (MIL / SIL / HIL / DIL / VIL).
The scope of the Project covers activities such as :
Definition and analysis of requirements for active system features (e.g. ADAS).
Definition of the Validation test plan,
Set-up of the simulation platform (HW&SW),
Generation of the virtual environment,
Implementation of the test scenarios into the specific SW (e.g. SCANeR Studio ),
Development of Post-processing tools for acceptance criteria,
Test automation, test execution and reporting.
Support to calibration and testing in test tracks.
One of the main tools employed for this purpose is the Hardware In the Loop (HIL) test bench. This tool allows to evaluate the behavior a physical Electronic Control Unit (ECU) of an active system simulating the rest of the elements including sensors, actuators, other ECU’s and the vehicle itself.
The focus of the first Project will be oriented to the development of a HIL platform for ADAS&CAV applications, using the same environment and working together with Engineers dedicated to the development of the IDIADA’s Driving Simulator.

Profile (the following skills will be highly appreciated) :
Should have 2 years minimum in Automotive Projects.
Experience on modeling, simulation and programming in engineering software (e.g. Matlab / Simulink, Phyton, C / C++, Automation Desk, Lab View or others).
Knowledge of automotive communication protocols (e.g. CAN, Ethernet )
Strong interest on ADAS&CAV areas.
Good communication skills and confident in discussions at different hierarchical levels.
Autonomy and willingness to learn and research.
Team spirit and ability to work in a dynamic and multicultural environment.
Recognizable proactiveness and passion for the work well done.
Committed, goal driven, methodical, with successful result orientation and with strong service orientation.
Additional experience in the following areas will be appreciated :
Previous XiL experience in automotive will be an asset (e.g. HiL / SiL development using DSpace Scalexio or Concurrent iHawk).
Knowledge of Software Simulation tools such as SCANeR, dSPACE, PreScan .
EuroNCAP and ISO 26262 standards
Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Electronics / Electrical, Mechatronics, Mechanical, Software or Automotive Engineering.
Other languages will be an asset, especially German.
