Local Unit & Position Description

The Global Shared Services (GSS) organization within DNV provides high-quality, cost-effective services and processes within Human Resources, Finance, Real Estate & Procurement, and IT.

GSS has consolidated the IT support service delivery into Regional Centers and country offices where proximity to the business areas is required and has built a Global Centre in Poland that delivers services that are location independent.

GSS IT is responsible for delivering a wide range of IT capabilities and capacities to business and corporate units and end-users worldwide.

With 400 employees worldwide GSS IT is the internal service provider for IT support globally in DNV and has a key role in system evaluation, development, and integration.

The GSS IT Region Southern Europe provide services to about 1.000 employees located across 15 countries, with local IT presence in our country offices in Italy, Spain, Greece, and Romania.

We are now creating another position for an IT support engineer in our Barcelona Office in Spain.

We are looking for an IT Support Engineer

As the local IT Support Engineer, you will :

  • Provide exceptional customer IT support service to local business units, with focus on Spain and Portugal
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs, with delivering results on agreed time and quality
  • Take ownership of registered cases, tracking the progress of all calls and follow-up with the customer to ensure that they are satisfied with the delivered resolutions
  • Follow processes to ensure that a high quality of service is provided to internal and external customers
  • Install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
  • Troubleshoot systems, multiple applications, and network issues
  • Prioritize and manage many open tickets at the same time
  • Provide basic training to end-users
  • Take part in testing of new releases or contribute to virtual teams in project work
  • Represent the IT function at team and business meetings when required
  • Develop and maintain knowledge and skills so that to be kept up to date with new processes, procedures, and technology developments
  • Position Qualifications

    To maximize your chances of success in the role, you need to have :

  • Bachelor's degree in faculty of Electronics, Telecommunications and Informatics or other relevant fields
  • At least 2 years of working experience
  • Proficiency in English with strong verbal and written communication skills (DNV working language is English)
  • Good knowledge of MS Windows 10 operating systems and other Microsoft products
  • Good knowledge of Windows Server (Active Directory, Network Sharing, Permissions, Management Console)
  • Excellent customer service skills, including the ability to work with users of all skill levels
  • Ability to prioritize your own workload and manage conflicting deadlines
  • Recent support center / technical support experience will be an advantage
