Junior Business Analyst based in Barcelona

Description :

As Junior Business analyst, based in our Barcelona Office, you will form part of a dynamic team of professionals that work as a liaison between the front & the back office in order to improve the current operating systems.

You would be asked to analyze, communicate, and validate requirements for changes to business processes and information systems to ensure company departments run smoothly.

The Business Analyst Department is part of the Operations department and analyses business processes, problems and opportunities, recommending solutions that enable the organization to improve quality, efficiency and ultimately reduce costs and achieve company goals.

You will directly report to the Business Analyst Manager and will be providing operational support to the front and the back office.

You will be key to support the company’s objectives and standards.

Responsibilities :

  • Have a good overview of all elements of the PAS system (Pega, SBS, New Gen, VIPR, ERS, Infobase)
  • Become the ERS (reporting tool) expert
  • Log PAS bugs and keep the bug list up-to-date
  • Draft basic requirements
  • Participate in the BAU wave / sprint deployment by :
  • Testing the UAT / deployment
  • Communicating the UAT / Deployment results
  • Participate in the Financial Lines roadmap workshop
  • Provide operational support to the front & back office
  • Provide training on operating systems to employees, specially ERS training
  • Generate reports upon request
  • Attend meetings with the project team regularly (triage / surgery meetings) to review project deliverables and deadlines
  • Document and keep up-to-date the PAS Systems and BA (Operations) manual / training material
  • Requirements :

  • Bachelor degree
  • Experience with PAS systems (Pega, SBS, New Gen, VIPR, ERS, Infobase) is a plus
  • Fluent in English, any other language (preferably Spanish) is an asset.
  • Excellent English written communication skills; advanced English verbal communication skills.
  • Preferably experience in / knowledge about the insurance sector
  • Proficiency in standard software applications (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Visio, Agile Frameworks (such as Jira / Visual Studio), Pega and SBS knowledge is a plus
