This role involves the definition, development and validation of all Vehicle Dynamics aspects of McLaren vehicles.
The role involves the simulation, modelling, testing, tuning and validation of suspension, steering and vehicle performance attributes to deliver the high level vehicle characteristics targets for McLaren vehicles.
You will be responsible for :
Defining attribute targets based on Marketing and vehicle roadmaps
Defining and managing Attribute plan with vehicle development to ensure all attributes achieve sign off at the appropriate point in the programme
Model and simulate virtual vehicle to ensure targets and correctly defined and hardware and software specification can deliver them
Define and carry out vehicle testing plan to tune / calibrate dynamic systems on the vehicle
Understand and resolve issues that arise during development process
Model and validate vehicle performance figures
Tracking and reporting on vehicle project status
Knowledge, Skills and Experience :
Knowledge of vehicle dynamics
Knowledge of chassis hardware systems (steering, suspension, tyres)
Competent user of Matlab, Simulink and ADAMS car
Good knowledge of control system design and tuning
Good knowledge of validation, verification and testing process
Good knowledge of data logging and calibration systems
Good knowledge of objective manoeuvre driving and subjective vehicle evaluation

Educational requirements :
Honours Degree in engineering or computer science.
High competency in written and oral English language.
