As a Chassis Design engineer and member of the Chassis Systems Design team of Applus IDIADA, your mission will be to be involved in different design projects related to some of the chassis modules (Suspensions, Brakes, Steering system and Wheels & Tyres).
For this position, your main responsibilities will be :
Design of chassis components (subframes, suspension links, knuckle, brakes, steering etc).
Ensure an appropriate packaging for the components between themselves and for the whole system on vehicle.
Initial definition and change management of BOM.
Support DFMEA generation.
Support DVP generation.
Ensure DFM & DFA are implemented on the design.
Support mule and prototype vehicles assembly as required.
Support the definition of the chassis components' technical specifications.
Writing technical / scientific documentation and monitoring reports.
Participation in project meetings and in cross-functional design reviews.
Work alongside other technical departments.
Contribute with new proposals for R&D projects.
University degree : Bachelor or Master Degree in Engineering. Specialized in Mechanics or in Automotive.
IDIADA HQ, Santa Oliva, Tarragona, Spain
Other Languages will be an asset.
Main skills desired :
Previous automotive OEM experience of minimum 2 years is required (Tier 1 component experience also considered)
NX Unigraphics / TeamCenter highly preferred (CATIA also considered)
Functional knowledge of the different chassis systems
Manufacturing technologies and materials for chassis components (Al Forging / Casting, high strength steel).
Experience in 2D Drawings generation (component and installation dwgs).
GD&T knowledge desired
Able to generate package / layout specifications, and part requirements.
Changes / release management (BoM management).
Support design reviews with requested material (presentations, reports, tolerance studies, tools access feasibility, assembly feasibility checks, drawings).
