The role

We are looking for an individual with extensive laboratory experience and appropriate knowledge in clinical genetics or related fields using Sequencing-based technologies.

In this role, you will apply your experience to educate and advise customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific Reproductive Health products and serve as the main point of contact for customers in the South region (Iberia / Italy / France) but also for in other countries across EMEA if needed.

As the market in clinical NGS testing is expanding strongly you might also assist in NGS testing related clinical applications if required.

You are open for strong collaboration inside the fast-growing South CAC team and your flexibility to assist to local CSD divisional needs is required.

You will be working remotely in Spain, preferably near to our main accounts there.

This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic individual to join a fast-paced global Life Sciences organisation.

What will you do?

  • Work closely with selected customers within EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) to facilitate familiarisation and laboratory implementation of sequencing- based assays and technologies.
  • Assist local account teams in pre- and post-sales activities
  • Train and advise Technical Sales Teams on the assays as application expert to enable confidence in the application
  • Participate in product development projects to advise on customer onboarding and implementation requirements
  • Refer customers to current guidelines and best practices and publications in the fields of Carrier Screening, Preimplantation Genetic Testing
  • Collaborate with Technical Sales Specialists and regional Field Application Support to set up optimal strategy for customer sites
  • Develop, maintain, and manage interactions with Key Opinion Leaders ( KOLs ) from the Carrier Screening and Preimplantation Genetic Testing communities as well as other relevant healthcare professionals
  • Attend scientific conferences, user meetings and similar opportunities
  • Use CRM database to record activities and contribute measurably to growth of business.
  • Experience / Qualifications / Qualities that are important in this role

  • Advanced graduate degree in (Molecular) Biology or Clinical Genetics
  • 5 or more years laboratory experience in Sequencing based technologies
  • Familiarity with scientific and clinical trends and practices in Carrier Screening and Preimplantation Genetic Testing
  • Experience with NGS based Reproductive Health applications
  • Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and use extensive complex clinical data as a key factor in the sales process
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and ongoing changes in EMEA regions
  • Written and verbal fluency in Spanish, English, additional languages a plus
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
  • Ability to work effectively within a variety of cultural and regional settings
  • Ability to work in a global matrix- based organizational structure
