About the Role

We are currently recruiting in JTB VIAJES SPAIN a Project Manager FRENCH MOTHER TONGUE OR B2 LEVEL M&E with previous experience within the MICE industry and French source Market to join our passionate team.

This position will be based in Barcelona.

Candidates should ideally be coming from an event agency or a DMC and have previously worked with a wide range of clients, specially focus on French source market.

End to end event / project management is key and candidates must be able to manage the full scope of their own events, from answering the client request / brief with the best tailored proposal to financial reconciliation.

Responsibilities include

  • Determine client’s needs and expectations, liaising with sales to ascertain client’s precise requirements
  • Create, plan and deliver large-scale events for a variety of foreign clients across the year
  • Proposal creation and pitch, when required
  • Full logistics including accommodation bookings and all land arrangements throughout full domestic territory
  • Supplier management prior, during and after the event
  • Negotiating with third parties to maximize value creation
  • Client and account management to ensure repeat business
  • Onsite management of the event
  • Budget management and post event reconciliation
  • Produce pre / post event evaluation for analysis & enhance future service delivery level.
  • Reporting to various stakeholders
  • Analysis, research and identification of issues, addressing those that can be resolved and make recommendations to management for improvement
  • On a monthly basis, ensure Atlas (M&E operational / financial system) is up to date

    The ideal candidate for this position should have :

  • A passion for their job and the fast-paced event industry
  • A natural curiosity for the hospitality environment and the passion to share her / his enthusiasm & knowledge
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Enthusiasm in delivering outstanding result
  • The ability to prioritize and multi-task in a complex environment
  • The ability to run a number of different events in parallel and manage a wide range of third parties
  • Administration skills including a strong understanding of business financials
  • Strong IT literacy
  • We are looking for a Person with :

  • French Mother Tongue or B2 Level.
  • Previous experience / working knowledge in the MICE industry for at least 3 years and in French source market
  • Fluent in English. Written and verbal language skills are essential
  • Deep knowledge of the Spanish territory and what it can offer in terms of MICE services
  • Sound organisational and MS Office skills
  • Team player, ability to work both in group situations and also as an individual
  • Willingness to travel nationally and work irregular hours
