What you'll be doing :
Design and build distributed and high availability systems around big data tools.
Implementation and improvements of data processing techniques needed to give
meaningful representations of the gathered information.
Optimization of existing resources to minimize computation and system
requirements.
Design and maintain web scraping systems to integrate new platforms or
improve the existing indexing mechanisms.
Collaboration in frontend tools to represent the output information or to allow the
use of human intelligence tasks for data labeling.
Who we're looking for :
We’re looking for a talented, passionate, and pragmatic Senior Backend Engineer.
Ideally, you are a confident communicator in English, and will be comfortable working in
an agile environment. You are happy to help the other team members and share your
knowledge. Also, and most important, you want to keep learning.
Core skills and experience we are looking for :
Backend - proven experience developing large scale backend services in
Node.js. You're comfortable working with Docker and you're concerned about
performance and optimization.
Database - you have a solid understanding of relational SQL, MongoDB or other
document oriented databases.
General - you are comfortable using git or svn and the command line, and have
worked in a collaborative environment with a team of developers. You feel
ownership of the software you craft.
Bonus points if :
Backend - you have experience with other languages such as Python, Java, PHP
or C++.
Big data - You have worked implementing ETL pipelines for Big Data products
and understand the advantages and limitations of current Big Data technologies
like Clickhouse, BigQuery, Athena, or others.
Frontend - you have professional experience in frontend development including
solid skills in HTML / CSS, including multi-browser responsive design, and
Javascript, with libraries like jQuery or react.
