The Role :
We are looking for a Web Developer to join our ITRS team in Málaga (Spain). We need an engineer experienced in all areas of web development, who can move freely between client and server side.
What you’ll be responsible for :
Design, develop and maintain modern websites.
Research new technologies for eventual implementation in enhancing systems and websites.
Participate in the overall functioning of the development team using industry standards and best practices.
Work on all phases of the software development flow (analysis, design, development and documentation) as part of our web development team.
Peer debugging, reviewing and testing of other team members' work.
Research and experiment with emerging technologies and present solution proposals.
Work closely with technical leads to build development plans.
Identify and manage risks on our solutions or releasing plans.
Experience designing and building custom Drupal modules.
Solid foundation in OOP and design patterns.
Proficient understanding of code versioning with Git (and its commands).
Experience developing on desktop and server Linux distributions.
Knowledge of cross-browser issues.
Understanding of web page load speeds and scalability.
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
The ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences is a must.
Good written and verbal communication skills in English (teams are geographically spread across UK, Europe, Australia, USA and Manila).
Understanding of progressive enhancement in web projects.
Being curious and passionate about constant learning, also going outside of your usual domain.
Some experience or knowledge of any of the following is not essential but would be warmly received :
Migrating websites from Drupal 7 to Drupal 8.
Using thorough browser / device testing ethos.
Consuming online RESTful APIs.
Configuring Apache and NGINX servers and virtual hosts.
Setting-up and using Docker containers.
Using Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum or Kanban) and Jira.
Using CI tools (e.g. Jenkins).
Developing on Twig.
Developing with Node.js
Developing with React.
