We are currently looking for an HR Generalist to join our international HR Department, and provide a local support to our Barcelona office.

Main responsibilities would include :

  • Managing the on-boarding processes.
  • Absence and leave management : administering employees’ leave and attendance.
  • Handling terminations : ensuring termination procedure is properly completed and submitting required documentation to payroll department on a timely manner.
  • Assisting employees in answering any pertinent questions regarding policies and procedures.
  • Assuring compliance with country regulations concerning all aspects of employment (vacation, overtime pay, employee benefit eligibility, health & safety due process, payroll processed, etc.)
  • Researching, recommending and implementing new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency of the department and the services performed.
  • Administering visa and work permit applications when needed.
  • Ensuring changes to the employees’ profiles are properly reported and submitted to payroll.
  • Maintaining employee files, organizational charts and online company directory.
  • Managing complex employee relations issues, ensuring procedures are properly followed and paperwork completed and filed, keeping the lines of communication open between managers and their employees.
  • Conducting audits to ensure that employee files have all necessary documents for compliance purposes.
  • Administering benefits plans.
  • Performing general administrative duties.
  • Participating in other, ad-hoc HR related projects.
  • Required knowledge and skills :

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Human Resources Management, Labor Relations or related field.
  • Previous experience as an HR Specialist / Generalist in an international environment
  • Knowledge and understanding of Spanish employment law and / or some HR experience from Romania / Netherlands / Greece / Turkey
  • Fluency in Spanish and English. Ideally fluent Romanian or Dutch speaker.
  • Decision making / complex problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Impeccable organization skills.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Exceptional communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.
  • Positive attitude, resiliency, and the ability to produce high quality and volume at a fast pace.
