We are looking for a Technical Service Engineer (He / She / They) who is used to interact with different cultural environments, and who wants to work in a challenging high-growth environment.
The workplace is Barcelona Headquarters but requires occasional travel to support Line Stations and AOG recovery.
The position will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and ultimately to the Technical Director .
Purpose of the Position
As a Technical Service Engineer, you will be part of the Troubleshooting team focused on the continued aircraft health monitoring of Volotea’s fleet, composed of Airbus A32X series.
This includes follow-up of real time alerts as well as repetitive faults, interacting with Volotea’s Maintenance Control Center (MCC), Short Term Planning (STP) and Engineering / Reliability departments to ensure proactive control and rectification of defects.
For complex defects, travel to Line Stations might be required to oversee the rectification of defects by Third party providers or perform the rectification as a Licensed Aircraft Engineer of Volotea’s Maintenance Organization.
This would be in accordance with Company, Manufacturer and Civil Aviation Authorities procedures and legislation.
Roles and Responsibilities
Real time Aircraft Health Monitoring through Skywise Health Monitoring (SHM), promoting a proactive / preventive approach to ensure an early defect detection, double check part and tooling requests when applicable and plan its rectification.
Traceability, Analysis and Troubleshooting of Intermittent Faults across the fleet on Skywise Core platform.
Coordinate with the rest of the Technical Service team to Regularly report the status of the repetitive / intermittent faults.
Liase with MCC and Line Station Engineers to ensure that suggested Troubleshooting steps for defect rectification are understood and are strictly followed.
Supervise all tasks performed until the defects are finally rectified.
Externally support MCC controllers in their daily duties :
24 / 7 monitoring of Aircraft Technical StatusProviding Technical support to Crews (guidance on interpretation of the MEL dispatch and Technical Troubleshooting).
AOG recovery, Fault Isolation and Parts Request.Control and rectification of Deferred Defects in due time, having direct impact on the operational performance of our fleet.
Attend daily Production meetings with MCC, Short Term Planning and Logistics. Based on expertise provide guidance on the requirements and ensure the context is favourable for task accomplishment, especially those tasks requiring especial material and equipment or a specific skill.
Occasional Line Stations onsite support (for complex defect rectification and non-routine maintenance tasks, e.g Engine changes).
EASA Part 66 Licensed Aircraft Engineer certified on Airbus A32X series (CFM56 engine type)
8-10 years relevant work experience and especially troubleshooting experience.
5 years of minimum experience in Airbus A32X series and recency will be highly valued.
Previous experience in Maintenance Control, Airline Engineering or Line Maintenance.
Strong technical knowledge of aircraft systems, capable to remotely provide clear troubleshooting instructions from given symptoms.
Excellent communication skills, able to communicate effectively to all related parties both verbally and written.
Fluent English and Spanish compulsory, Italian and French will be considered a plus.
Self-disciplined, highly organized individual able to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Proactive and cooperative attitude.
Working knowledge of computer systems and programs (especially MS Office package).
Experience in AMOS and AIMS will be considered a plus.
EASA Regulation (Part M, Part 145), EWIS and Fuel Tank Safety certificates in force will be considered a plus.
