As Sales Account Manager, you manage a portfolio of existing and new business clients for your assigned event. You are responsible for managing client relationships and using a consultative sales approach to win business and meet personal sales targets.
Activities include proposal writing, sourcing leads, developing new business clients, and selling over the phone and face to face.
About the team
This role joins an experienced sales team responsible for the commercial growth of the 4YFN event platform, with the flagship event in Barcelona co-located with Mobile World Congress (MWC Barcelona).
The team is located in Barcelona and collaborates with the MWC global sales team and wider GSMA sales teams based in offices in Europe, Asia and the Americas with a collaborative, competitive and vibrant atmosphere.

4YFN is the highly successful startup event of the GSMA, with an annual flagship event in Barcelona, and has witnessed substantial growth since its creation in 2013.
Today we can proudly state that it is considered the leading international startup event in Europe bringing together the key elements of the startup ecosystem : founders, investors, corporates, public institutions and academic talent.
The sales team has grown to include four people and manages a portfolio of over 200 clients from around the world, from Amazon to the Japan External Trade Organisation, as well as early stage startups looking to participate in a global trade show for the first time.
We are looking for a motivated, enthusiastic and autonomous Sales Account Manager to join the 4YFN Sales team during a very dynamic growth period for the business.
This role offers an opportunity for the individual to work within a larger organization and experienced sales team, leveraging the GSMA assets, brand and member base whilst also being part of a smaller team allowing flexibility and autonomy.
You will have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest global brands who are already existing clients and build on the reputation of 4YFN to identify and secure new ones.

About the Role
You are required to have prior sales experience and have a demonstrable passion for startups and the startup ecosystem.
You will be responsible for :
Account management of a range of customers from around the world, from entry-level Startup clients to Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Sale of Sponsorship, Exhibition Space, Digital Media and Advertising to new clients and existing customer base
Generating new business sales from both outbound leads as well as inbound or marketing-generated sales leads
Providing weekly updates to the sales pipeline, tracking of metrics underpinning the sales funnel and sharing customer feedback on product performance / quality
Providing reports on demand in response to new business opportunities
Driving upsell, cross sell and expansion opportunities within your assigned area of responsibility
Troubleshooting any client issue in a proactive manner liaising with marketing, operations, customer service and finance where necessary
You’re someone who is passionate about growing the business and exceeding expectations. You must want to understand and fully engage with your market, have a passion for sales and the startup ecosystem and be able to collaborate with all departments to generate deals not only for 4YFN but for all GSMA’s platforms in a consultative approach.
We are looking for a great communicator with commercial insight, effective time management and attention to deadlines. You should be fluent in English and Spanish languages.
Experience of working with a lead generation process and CRM systems is a plus.
