The United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC) provides critical Logistics, Geospatial, Information and Telecommunications Technologies services and Training to all peacekeeping and special political missions around the world.
The Client Solutions Delivery Section (CSDS), within the Service for Geospatial, Information, and Telecommunications Technologies (SGITT) at the United Nations Global Service Centre (UNGSC), provides geospatial support to peacekeeping / peace building missions across the Globe, as well as to UN Headquarters (UNHQ) in New York and technical / support sections at UNGSC.
The Solutions and Support Unit (SSU) within CSDS performs support and development of GeoSpatial applications based on ESRI ArcGIS, Latitude Geocortex and .NET technologies.
The GIS (Geospatial Information System) Developer Internship Programme is for six (6) months.
The Internship is UNPAID and full-time. Interns work five (5) days per week (37.5 hours) under the supervision of a staff member in the department or office to which they are assigned.

Interns shall not be eligible to apply for or be appointed to any position in the Professional or higher categories or at the FS-6 and FS-7 levels in the Field Service category during the period of the internship and the six months immediately following the expiration date thereof.

United Nations Considerations
According to article 101, paragraph 3, of the Charter of the United Nations, the paramount consideration in the employment of the staff is the necessity of securing the highest standards of efficiency, competence, and integrity.

Candidates who have committed crimes other than minor traffic offences may not be considered for employment.
