    The robust evaluation and curation of our data make the Web of Science Core Collection the world’s most trusted publisher-independent global citation database.

    Customers include universities, academic and governmental research institutions, scholars and researchers, publishers, and university faculty and administrators.

    The primary responsibility for the Head of Editorial Outreach is to communicate the Web of Science editorial evaluation process and selection criteria to publishers, journal editors, funders and researchers across the globe.

    They will also be responsible for evaluating journals for a set of defined subject categories for the Web of Science Core Collection.

  • Deliver in-person and virtual workshops and presentations to : help the scholarly publishing and research communities understand the Web of Science Core Collection evaluation process and selection criteria and appreciate the difference between the different Web of Science indices and the value of inclusion in Web of Science.
  • help Clarivate colleagues gain familiarity with the Web of Science Core Collection evaluation process and selection criteria

  • Co-ordinate global editorial outreach calendar. Including : in-person workshops requested by customers, sales team or other internal colleaguesa regular series of virtual workshops
  • Provide the global publishing community with standards to help build world-class publications
  • Train Web of Science editors to deliver editorial outreach presentations and workshops
  • Collate feedback from outreach sessions and make recommendations to improve processes and communications
  • Journal evaluation and content curation for Core Collection databases (approx. 20% of the role initially)
  • Required :

  • Bachelors degree (or equivalent) in the natural or social sciences
  • Solid understanding of the scholarly publishing and / or academic research communities
  • Proven ability to communicate effectively to large audiences; including audiences that are not native English speakers
  • Proven ability to connect with research and scholarly publishing community
  • Excellent inter-personal skills
  • Excellent verbal and written English language skills
  • Preferred :

  • At least 2 years’ experience in scholarly publishing
  • Fluency in a second European language or Mandarin
  • Post-graduate qualification in the natural or social sciences
