Role Summary :

The Senior Loads Analysis Engineer operates as a Senior Engineer for Wind Turbine systems modeling and aeroelastic simulation, leading System Value Optimization assessment for New Products, Cost-out programs and Fleet support.

Essential Responsibilities :

  • Provides technical guidance and team support on aeroelastic simulation tools and mechanical loads assessment.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement in methods and tools in collaboration with the innovation team and leads process related improvements re.
  • interfaces with the design teams (Systems, Subsystems Engineering, Certification and Program Management)

  • Load assessment for NPIs and RCAs, implementing control technologies to mitigate mechanical loads & improve turbine power performance.
  • Drive simplification in the systems modeling, loads simulation and documentation, as well as component checks and certification efforts to resolve technical challenges supporting certification process along the chain from system modeling to experimental validation.
  • Collaborate with wind farm engineering team and provide solutions to enhance application space, identifying methodology&technology improvements enabling it.
  • Provide support, supervision and technical expertise for mechanical loads issues seen in simulation or in the fleet for systems organization and across component owners.
  • Jointly with the Systems Engineering team, deploys methodologies to analyze component design driving loads and rank them to target load reduction strategies selectively.
  • Provides solutions in the field of simulation, operability or system trade-off recommendation to optimize the cost of energy by reducing design driving loads and maximizing the energy capture.
  • Work closely with the Controlled Tittle Holders community across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on system simulation techniques & practices.
  • Supports the introduction and validation of new simulation tools and simulation environment for productivity, optimization and high fidelity, working closely with the innovation teams.
  • Qualifications / Requirements :

  • Experience in wind characterization
  • Experience in wind turbine control technologies, operability & validation
  • Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria and wind turbine systems integration
  • Experience in wind Turbine Certification Processes
  • Experience in software development for system simulation tools including specifications, theory manuals and flow charts.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, leading and influencing skills and a positive energy
  • If contracted in Spain :

    Non-national candidates are responsible to know the minimum documentation requirements to be able to be contracted in country : NIE- Social Security Affiliation Number in Spain (NAF) and Bank Account in Spain.

    They must be in possession of them at the time of start hiring. GE will not sponsor this requirement
