A Day in the Life

The position is based in Europe and you will become part of the Surgical Innovations Western Europe FP&A team, reporting to the FP&A Senior Finance Manager.

You will work on improvements and breakthrough innovations in planning, reporting and analytics, to support and measure the business performance and strategy.

The scope is Western Europe, so you will collaborate with people in different countries and cultures.

You will leverage your analytical skills and attention to detail to become a trusted partner to the Surgical Innovations Western Europe Finance Team, supporting the business through on time delivery of reliable financial analytics and actionable insights.

You will build FP&A experience in the biggest Medtronic Operating Unit, gradually getting exposure to multiple areas of P&L and having direct impact on real-life business decisions.

This position requires autonomy, and close cooperation with your finance colleagues as well as multiple internal stakeholders.

You will be accountable for delivery on tight deadlines. With time the role has potential to grow into direct business partnering and business modeling for growth initiatives.

Key aspects of your role

  • Maintenance, Enhancement & Preparation of reliable standard reporting & analytics;
  • Support the financial planning process, including the annual operating plan (AOP) and quarterly forecasts;
  • Development of profitability analytics on Surgical Innovations Western Europe Fixed Assets and Sales Force organization;
  • Tracking financial metrics and return on investment on key projects and strategic initiatives;
  • Analyze and interrogate large and disparate data sets to provide clear insights to the Surgical Innovations Portfolio;
  • Support key ad-hoc projects and requests, including multi-function initiatives that require a high level of financial and business acumen.

  • Qualifications and experience requirements :

  • University degree in finance, business or accounting;
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of professional finance experience including routine use of advanced Excel;
  • Hyperion and Power BI experiences are preferred by not critical;
  • Experience in a multicultural, diverse environment; multinational or audit firm is preferred;
  • Willingness to Travel 5% of time;
  • Fluent in English.
