Reporting to the Information Manager, the Research and Information Specialist is part of a small but mighty Tax and Legal Compliance Department at Shareworks by Morgan Stanley.
This role would be based out of our Barcelona, Spain office. Responsibilities of the role : Ensure the platform accurately reflects the information confirmed by lawyers in all jurisdictions by contacting local lawyers regularly, following up on open tickets timely in a timely manner, keeping and maintaining records of every change done to the platform, using internal systems and metrics to measure changes and communicating changes in position and in legislations to Associate and Clients.
Updating the platform from a legal and tax perspective : Reviewing thoroughly and with attention to detail information in the platform including : tax bands, calculations, and ratesTesting changes in front-end before making them LIVEMaking sure changes in the back-end pull through to all services and features in front-end with no errorsReporting and following up on bugs and errors in the platformProposing improvements and development of the platformClarifying queries on the information send back from lawyers.
Comparing the information on the GC Platform with other platforms and public domain websites to confirm alignment : Regulatory Baker’s, DLA Piper, Deloitte, White & CaseTax IBFD, Deloitte, EY, PwCMonthly presentation of the platform to the team internally to include updates on how up to date the information contained in the database is, usage and login statistics from clients and lawyers, pending jurisdictions to be reviewed and upcoming changes in legislation and tax budgets to be aware of.
Content curation for GC Newsletter including daily sweep news of sources, drafting short articles informing of upcoming changes, getting consent by local lawyer of content and proofing and putting together layout for distribution.
Set up sites on the platform for clients : Creating and implementing demo sites for prospectsCreating client sites for new clientsReviewing existing client site for set up accuracyAdding new functionality to existing client sitesMaintaining and growing the Global Compliance Network of lawyers
Epic attention to detail (must be demonstrable) you need to care about the details and getting the information on our database right for our clients and team mates.
Really strong communications skills - you must be comfortable communicating with colleagues and lawyers from all around the world and be great at building relationships (we are looking for a real team player, someone who is happy to dig in).
