Job Description - Terminal Automation Technical Specialist Europe (19016342)Job Description Terminal Automation Technical Specialist Europe Requisition ID : (19016342)Primary Location : Spain-Community of Madrid-MadridJob Function : EngineeringJob Posting Date : Dec 20, 2019, 3 : 03 : 52 PM By joining us as a Terminal Automation Technical Specialist you will be responsible for working with the customer throughout the lifetime of a project, starting with initial client discussions, working as part of the sales team (consultative selling), supporting the project from design to successful completion and winning repeat business.

You will be working primarily in the Oil & Gas industry, providing leadership to the project team and mentoring resources.

Key focus is on the ability to create a vision for terminal automation using Syncade & DeltaV solutions and to be able to articulate that vision both to the customer and the project team.

  • Assess customer’s processes, installations, infrastructure, work processes, IT systems, interfaces to other systems (ERP, LIMS, Tank Inventory, etc.
  • as well as automation layers to identify business opportunities where the Syncade & DeltaV solution can be successfully applied.

  • Work with customer to map the as-is and to-be business processes, set strategic vision, specify terminal automation requirements and operational improvements based on the results of site assessments and quantify expected benefits.
  • This may also include the provision of FEED studies.

  • Provide solution and engineering estimates for tenders, including assessment and advice on technical and commercial risks during the pursuit of potential Terminal Automation projects and ensure that risks are properly addressed during both the sales and execution phases.
  • Achieve customer satisfaction by creating continuity between sales and execution process and by ensuring common understanding of requirements between customer, sales and execution team.
  • Perform high-level business and technical analyses such as value-stream mapping, requirements definition, validation planning, and gap analyses from user requirements.
  • Maintain industry expertise and Terminal Automation knowledge leadership, working with subject matter experts and industry solutions groups.

  • Follow the project into the delivery phase providing support and consultancy to the project technical lead / senior team members and attend significant customer progress meetings.
  • FOR THIS ROLE YOU WILL NEED :

  • Engineering degree or equivalent with at least 10 years experience in the Process Control and / or Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) business with focus on the Oil & Gas industry and a proven track record
  • Previous experience of business process mapping, requirements analysis, scope definition (and then managing a project to that scope), design and implementation of process control solutions
  • Proven project management and technical leadership experience
  • Excellent knowledge and solid experience with Process Control systems, data integration, server hardware and networks. Knowledge of MES and ERP systems is preferred
  • Knowledge of terminal automation processes
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • A high level of customer interfacing skills
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills
  • Fluent English (written and spoken) with additional languages preferred
  • Willingness to travel in Europe (up to 50%) is mandatory, travel can be for shorter periods of time or longer assignments (e.
