Job Description

As a Tech Animator / Rigger in Gameloft, you will have the following responsibilities :

  • Work with character artists and animators to create character setups for the in-game use.
  • Prototyping, innovation and application of new animation technologies; driving the development of the animation pipeline.
  • Tools development, training and documentation for the character team.
  • Requirements :

  • Expert knowledge of in-game character animation technology : animation compression techniques, retargeting, animation blending / parametrization, IK , procedural animation.
  • Expert knowledge of rigging (body and facial) and skinning, in-game animation systems and methodologies.
  • Fluency in Max script and / or Python.
  • Experience working with multiple game engines.
  • High level of expertise with 3ds Max.
  • Good eye for character mesh flows and animation aesthetics.
  • Good communication skills, ability to clearly share complex technical information with programmers, animators, character artists and designers.
  • Assets :

  • Experience with using Autodesk’s gross-platform system with 3ds Max, Maya and MoBu.
  • Experience with leading game engine’s animation systems using state-machines, blend-trees; Unreal 4 Blueprints, Unity Animation System.
  • Experience with MoCap, performance capture processes and data manipulation.
