The Plantweb Digital Ecosystem BdM (Business Development Manager), Europe position requires meeting / exceeding annual booking targets and successful execution of growth initiatives of Plantweb products for a specific area.

Engaging with the FSO PSS sales channel, PlantWeb Solutions Group’s and other Emerson Automation Solutions business units as appropriate.

Closely collaborating with the PSS Territory Manager to qualify opportunities, drive growth and provide timely reporting metrics.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Primary Roles & Responsibilities

  • Product / Solution Growth Initiatives
  • Enable the delivery of the territory manager’s strategic plans through engagement ensuring the right mix of technical support and application knowledge is available.

    Ability to manage priorities, and focus on what will drive the North American business goals, balancing these with the needs of FSO’s and territory managers.

  • Subject Matter Expertise; Technical, Applications, Competition
  • Develop an in-depth knowledge on all the products / systems within the Plantweb portfolio and the ability to communicate & apply that knowledge through Solutions Selling methodology.

  • Project Pursuit Sales Support
  • Lead and / or actively support project pursuit opportunities in collaboration with the FSO Sales Channel or other PlantWeb Solutions Group’s.

  • Demos & Presentations
  • Develop the ability to conduct live demonstrations & formal presentations that clearly communicates the capabilities and value of the PlantWeb Digital Ecosystem

  • Solution Architect
  • Can layout and communicate recommended solution architectures based on customer needs for Reliability Solutions products, as well as see how they all play within the PlantWeb Digital Ecosystem.

    Be able to communicate how our products and services come together to move customers towards Top Quartile performance

  • Processes
  • Ensure we have the best processes in place with the tools we have to reinforce the One Emerson philosophy across PSS, MHM, and PAM.

    This covers requests for proposals, request to quote unreleased functionality, bill of material creation in EET, product pursuits in CRM, content on the global sales portal, system planning guides, services offered, and FSO certification.

  • Work with product marketing and technology to ensure the sales channels have what they need to be successful with our products literature, presentations, targets, actions, goals, competitive information, training, events, and calls to be confident and passionate about our offerings.
  • Supervisory Responsibilities

    There are no direct reports for this position. However, the ability to manage & influence an indirect sales channel (Emerson FSO & potential ADC) to drive growth initiatives and market penetration is essential

    Education and / or Experience

    B.S. degree in a technical discipline or related field and minimum ten (10) years industry experience; five (5) of which must be in proven sales, business development or marketing results.

    Specific proven experience in the areas of Online Machinery Systems, Turbo-Machinery and Vibration Analysis is highly preferred

    Additionally :

    This position requires an average of 50% travel

    Competency in Microsoft Office applications and usage

    Knowledge of relevant industrial software applications

    Exceptional team player and Solutions Selling

    Physical locations will be preferred based on an effective distribution of resources and therefore will be a consideration
