In the achievement of these goals, Mass General Brigham’s Data and Analytic teams are working together to build a system-wide data ecosystem.

We are both leveraging current assets and building new, integrated solutions to provide a holistic set of industry-leading data and analytic capabilities, supporting Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), and real-time insights.

Teams from Data and Analytics, Research Analytics, Clinical Data Science, and Information Systems are collaborating to build this new data and analytic ecosystem.

To ensure success of this effort, Mass General Brigham is standing up a new Data and Analytics operating model with a goal of driving a level of standardization for data and analytic operations across the teams involved.

The value of investments in data and analytics were proven out during our response to COVID-19 as these investments were leveraged to stand up new reporting and analytic capabilities to support executive and clinical leadership on managing the pandemic.

Our broad data and analytic community has come together across Mass General Brigham ’s 14 healthcare sites with shared urgency, delivering analytic tools to our system that drove timely insights in both clinical and operational domains, resulting in effective delivery of critical care and in organizational efficiencies during a time of reduced resources.

The Data Quality Analyst is a critical member of the Mass General Brigham Digital Organization (MGBD) and the Enterprise Data Warehouse Quality Assurance (EQA) team.

The EQA team shares and promotes quality assurance (QA) processes across MGBD; drives development of product quality standards and best practices in conjunction with other MGBD teams.

The Data Quality Analyst will evaluate, monitor, and maintain the integrity of healthcare data assets. Plan and execute testing and data quality control activities for MGB analytical products.

Is the subject matter expert related to product / delivery validation best practices. Identifies opportunities of improvement and increased operation efficiencies while producing customer facing and internal documentation to expand product knowledge repository.

Role Duties

  • Perform testing on data warehouse analytic assets to ensure our products meet the business needs and requirements. Author test plans and summaries to support testing methodologies.
  • Execute QA to support monthly content refresh operations

  • Translate business requirements to establish data quality rules; design, develop, implement and provide ongoing support of data quality scorecards.
  • Research and develop new tools, technology, and processes to streamline test execution
  • Monitor operational source data ingestion and perform quality checks on the data; collaborate with team members on data remediation and data cleanup activities
  • Write complex SQL queries; perform data analysis and testing to support high quality of deliverables
  • Summarize testing and validation results; communicate and make recommendations on the best course of action to remediate data issues
  • Develop and maintain product knowledge repository on quality control processes, workflow diagrams, quality rules documentation, test scripts, and other QA related documentations
  • Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional data warehouse QA and / or data analytics experience, preferably in healthcare
  • Proven capability to lead activities during requirements and testing project phases
  • Ability to work independently with minimal direction
  • Must possess professional experience with SQL, SAS or Python where you have created queries, pulled large data sets and performed data analysis and data validation
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to independently analyze quality control / test results and be confident with recommendations to resolve data issues
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written, verbal, and especially listening)
  • Desire to be a key player on a small, growing team in scaling and operationalizing delivery of premier services to build innovative, data driven solutions
  • Preferred Skills, Abilities and Competencies

  • Experience with healthcare data is strongly preferred (ex : claims, clinical, and financial)
  • Experience with Informatica Data Quality or other data quality tools is strongly preferred
  • Experience with SQL Server platform, Snowflake is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of relational database concept and ETL methodologies a strong plus
  • Experience working in environments where Agile, Scrum, DevOps practices are used a plus but not required
  • Adept at establishing trusted relationships at all levels across the organization and collaborating across multi-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to learn new technology and industry concepts quickly and be able to apply them
  • Ability to work with multiple stakeholders with competing priorities
  • Project management skills a plus

    Mass General Brigham’s main office is in Somerville, MA. We are currently working in a hybrid model due to COVID-19 and encourage applications from across the US as telecommuting becomes part of our new normal.
