In this role you will :
We are looking for a Junior Java Developer to join our Tech team in Spain. Your daily work will primarily focus on the development and maintenance of backend features using Java, Spring, PostgreSQL, Mongo, Kafka, and AWS .
Our teams write quality code using TDD and Unit Testing . We use GitHub, GitHub Actions , and a full CI / CD pipeline. You will work side by side with a multidisciplinary and multicultural team distributed among our different offices around Europe.
What your responsibilities will be :
Learning about product and technical priorities.
Scoping and implementing meaningful microservices with guidance from senior engineers.
Contributing to project estimation tasks and committing to a realistic amount of work.
Writing maintainable code that follows best practices learned through study and experience.
Learning about how your code fits into the application’s architecture.
Developing a security-first mindset.
What you bring :
Completion of a university degree in any field, or a professional formation (FP) program, or a back-end focused boot camp.
Basic object-oriented or functional programming knowledge.
Simple fundamental software development knowledge.
Experience with Java and at least one Java-based framework even if it was only in your academic or boot camp setting. We use Spring at wefox but we believe that if you’ve used one framework you should be able to onboard to a different one with relative ease.
A positive, can-do attitude and a willingness to learn and grow with us.
Working knowledge of English is required; proficiency in Spanish or German is a plus.
