Join our pioneering R&D team located in Benicarló, Spain!

As an Organic Synthesis Chemist, your main responsibilities will be :

  • Development, optimization and implementation of novel synthetic routes and study key organic chemistry reactions aiming to improve the quality, yield, process safety and / or reduce production cost of fragrance ingredients.
  • Plan, describe and perform experimental procedures. Analyze and summarize data and results in technical and informational documents that describe research program highlights, accomplishments, activities, and potential areas of improvement.
  • Research of alternative Renewable and Sustainable raw materials for the current Portfolio of Ingredients.
  • Perform thoroughly bibliography searches, ellaborate innovative research and working plans on assigned projects while balancing time, resources and risks.
  • To accomplish the above, the successful candidate must have excellent interpersonal, collaboration and communication skills in addition to rigorous scientific thinking, being aware of new advances and trends in synthetic organic chemistry.
  • Job Requirements

  • PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry
  • Fluent in English. Spanish advisable.
  • Proved industrial or academic experience (>
  • 3 years) within R&D or manufacturing industries (Pharma, Cosmetics, Fragrances, and Fine Chemicals) in small molecule synthesis and characterization.

    Technical skills :

  • Extensive knowledge of organic chemistry (reactivity, synthesis design, retrosynthetic analysis, chirality, catalysis, analytical, and purification).
  • Knowledge of Renewability concepts (LCA, CMB, CFP), and Experience in Application of Green Chemistry Strategies and Principles, will be valued.
  • Experience in the use of analytical instrumentation and data interpretation (HPLC, GC, MS, NMR and IR) is strongly desired.
  • Other requirements : ability to work in a multi-disciplinary and international team; critical thinking and keen attention to detail;
  • ability to plan, prioritize responsibilities and multi-task; excellent housekeeping and safety practices; good communication, documentation and organization skills.
