Reporting to the Principle Geotechnical Engineer, the role provides internal geotechnical support for Newcrest’s current operations and cutting-edge studies into the design of future block cave projects to support Newcrest’s growth strategy.

Who we’re looking for
A big focus of this of this position is to provide internal geotechnical support for current operations and studies into the design of future block cave projects.
You will be responsible for geotechnical activities that are associated with existing underground mining operations, and growth caving projects at both green and brownfield sites.
You’ll be providing expert geotechnical analysis on caving and in particular rock mass, cavability and fragmentation assessments, cave design, stability and ground support design.
Site operations experience is highly advantageous as is exposure to block caving.
Our perfect candidate will be tertiary qualified in Geology or equivalent with experience in caving operations working in an underground hard rock caving mining environment.
You will be a strong communicator capable of delivering significant and complex projects whilst leading and motivating team performance and providing professional guidance.
