UW Medicine Human Resources Recruitment has an outstanding opportunity for a temporary, part-time, Student Recruiting Assistant (UW Work Study Student Assistant)!

Job Location : Located at the UW Tower in the University District. Onsite for 2-3 days per week.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Contact newly hired employees to coordinate the preboarding process.
  • Complete reference checks on top candidates.
  • Review job applications for completeness.
  • Assist in screening job applications for posted job requisitions.
  • Track candidate information such as licensures, employee referrals, and temporary hourly limits for employees.
  • Assist with updating candidate records and job postings in recruiting systems, including applicant tracking system.
  • Assist Recruiting Team with general duties and projects.
  • Provide excellent customer service to candidates, recruitment team, and hiring managers.
  • Assist in job fair activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • REQUIREMENTS :

  • Must be University of Washington (UW) Work Study Eligible
  • At least six (6) months of experience working in an office, clerical, or customer service role
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to make phone calls
  • Must be detail-oriented
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to quickly learn new computer systems, including UWHIRES (UW’s applicant tracking system)
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • DESIRED :

  • Experience with Microsoft Teams and Zoom
  • Experience working in a customer-facing role

  • SCHEDULE :

    This position will require at least 15 hours per week (maximum of 19 hours / week) during the academic year.

    Hours are flexible, between 7 : 00 AM and 4 : 30 PM Monday through Friday. UW Medicine Human Resources Recruitment is located in the UW Tower (4333 Brooklyn Avenue NE, Seattle, WA 98195).

    CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT :

  • Must be UW student 18 years of age and older.
  • In accordance with UW Employment and Administrative Policies, Chapter 104, Student Employees, to hold an appointment in a student job title, a student must be enrolled at the University of Washington and meet the following minimum enrollment requirements (not including correspondence credits) :
  • Undergraduate students - 6 credits

    Graduate and professional students - 4 credits

    Ph.D. candidates working on dissertations - 2 credits

    Granted "on leave" status (see Work Hour Limits below for information about "on leave" status and working between quarters)

  • Limited to working 19.5 hours per week when classes are in session, and may work more than 19.5 hours per week during school breaks or when "on leave".
  • Students are considered "on leave" as follows :

    Undergraduates - For one quarter immediately following a quarter in which the student was enrolled for at least 6 academic credits, including summer quarter.

    Graduate and Professional Students - When the student has applied for and been granted such status by the Dean of the Graduate School.
