Your responsibilities for this role may include, but are not limited to :
Maintain detailed knowledge of relevant Spanish regulatory requirements for insurance and insurance intermediation, and awareness of EU regulatory requirements and apply knowledge in all tasks (as appropriate) regulatory changes and ensure business responds where appropriate
Provide advice to business on interpretation / impact / compliance with regulatory requirements to ensure licenses are met and service delivery expectations of the business are met, including HR related matters
Adapt to Spanish regulation / law where relevant and apply all EO policies, guidance and processes to ensure business meets its regulatory requirements and ensure policies are kept up to date and relevant
Review changes to regulation, update local policies and procedures in line with any regulatory developments
Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Spanish Compliance function in accordance with established plans and priorities, and act as key local point of contact for compliance matters
Identify and assess potential risks to business objectives and where appropriate take action to prevent or reduce impact or probability of the risk occurring, through the implementation of appropriate controls and action plans
Responsible for the risk analysis of the branch in collaboration with business teams; coordinate and drive the permanent control plan and organize corrective action plans in connection with the operational teams
Assist defining a control plan. Monitor and assess on regular basis the process
Monitor regulatory developments and promote team and management awareness and coordinate response to proposed changes·
Regular engagement with central EO Control functions as appropriate (ERM, UGD, IA etc.) as required
Monitor management action plans for every audit recommendations
Manage all aspects of the day-to-day operation of the Spanish Legal function in accordance with established plans and priorities, and act as key local point of contact for Legal matters (including HR but excluding tax and finance)
You will need to be able to display you have the following qualifications and experience :
Law Degree in Private Law, Business law or insurance law
5-7 years relevant experience in the insurance sector as legal counsel or compliance specialist or in a law firm
Ability to work in English in a professional environment
Ability to work in a Global environment with non-lawyers
Sense of empowerment and proactivity
