As part of the Data & Analytics team, the Data & Analytics Analytical Data Layer Solution Lead is responsible for the Analytical Database (data-warehouse / de-normalized / STAR schema).
The Data & Analytics team Central IT team focuses on providing trusted and governed enterprise data and making it accessible to a large base of users.
On top of that, this central IT team will provide a data & analytics platform and a set of playbooks so other application teams (franchises) can benefit not only from the enterprise data generated but also to ensure those teams can be self-sufficient to bring additional data they may need using approved / supported technologies (Platform) while they adhere to the standards and best practices defined.
The goal of the Analytical Data Layer Solution Lead is to ensure data generated both by the central team and the franchises is consumable, re-usable and scalable.
This position requires a highly experienced Data & Analytics Architect, with strong stakeholder management skills, excited to govern, assure and consult with Analytics Developers on Data & Analytics Solutions across the company.
Previous experience with analytical databases in centralized / de-centralized environments is essential. Main responsibilities on this area being : Ensure Production deployments requested by developers globally - of analytics core components are executed properly, including monitoring JIRA for compliance Ensure Production Daily executions run and monitor daily executions Cast Production Communications (Downtime, improvements, issues, etc) Assure maintenance of environment access rights of Users and groups creation, keeping the central tracker updated and support user connection issues CAB meetings attendance to support global developer changes Foster Analytical Data Layer (ADL) usage and global collaboration Keep control and improve the ADL architecture, not only in Core, but broadcast suggestions and require remediations if needed to the rest of the teams globally Manage consistency and govern (access, structure, naming convention) the ADL schemas in the Analytical Database in Redshift and Informatica PowerCenter ADL Infrastructure Improvement Ideas Understand, share, comply, define and maintain Standards for all underlying technologies used by ADL Provide guidance and support for new extensions to plug to core deliverables Promote the standard usage of ADL to users to align SE data strategy (Avoid SILOS, reuse AAA objects, etc) Peer review other development tasks that impact the core (by skilled member in that technology) Assure all developers working on shared objects must be guild members onboard developers, explain their responsibilities with continuous governance Contribute to the development and delivery of technical strategy for scalable, high-quality data & analytics platform services (from data ingestion through data-modeling / storage to report building).
Manage and optimize technology architecture (cloud, on-prem or hybrid) making sure capacity is aligned with current usage and anticipating future needs.
Collaborating with functional teams including, but not limited to, requirement reviews to define solutions or alternatives according to the business need and technological capabilities / limitations.
Influencing technical and business members at different levels of the organization to ensure data models align to strategic objectives, considering current need and future potential (scalability / reusability).
Promoting BI benefits to the organization and usage of our tools to relevant business groups. Following all standard System Development Life Cycle processes and required documentation.
Producing guidelines and standards for B.I. implementation for both ETL, data-modeling and reporting. Executing analysis, planning, right technology selection, prototyping, designing, developing, deploying, and assisting in end-user training of BI solutions to the user community for our architecture Providing leadership, technical guidance, training and mentoring to others in areas of acquired / assigned expertise, including external consultant partners knowledge sharing is key to our success.
Staying abreast of industry standard and cutting-edge technologies through whitepapers, vendor-based collaboration and literature, and technical newsgroups sharing the research with all members of the Enterprise B.
I. team and extended community through our internal collaboration tools Knowledge, Skills, Abilities Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, related fields or equivalent work experience required.
4+ years’ experience of the full software development lifecycle on Business Intelligence. Experience in following components (or similar) : ETL tools : Informatica PowerCenter (preferred), Informatica Cloud, PL / SQL, Snaplogic, ODI Data bases : AWS RedShift (a must), Oracle, PostgreSQL, Exasol, BI tools : Tableau (preferred), Oracle Business Intelligence, Birst, PowerBI Analytical Data modeling knowledge (DWH, STAR schema, Kimball ) Experience managing servers both Cloud and On-prem (ideally experienced in AWS) Proven ability and initiative to learn and research new concepts, ideas, and technologies quickly.
Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, excellent presentation skills. Ability to effectively move forward on tasks even with ambiguous or changing requirements.
Ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment in a global context. Willingness and ability to train and teach others.
Ability to facilitate meetings and follow up with resulting action items. Ability to self-manage, prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Strong systems / process orientation with demonstrated analytical thinking, organization skills and problem-solving skills.
