Perform market research to understand innovation trends and identify sectors with attractive investment opportunities
Work together with Business Development team to understand the needs of Telefónica Global Business Units (GBUs) & Operating Business (OBs) and look for startups that can help solve these needs
Organize meetings with prospect startups, evaluate opportunities and present them to Wayra and Telefónica
Enter deals into CRM and summarize meeting notes and next steps
Gather information of the target startup to fill in the investment template
Talk to target startup competitors, customers, current investors and do background checks of the founding team
Analyze target startup financials and business plan and share insights with the team
Help performing due diligence of the target startup
Work together with scouters in other Wayra in identifying investment opportunities and participate in global scouting sprints
Network with peers in Venture Capital firms and share dealflow opportunities
Help organize Investors Days, Co-investment meetings and Investors meetups
Relevant experience in Management Consulting, Venture Capital, Startups or investment banking
Good knowledge of the startup ecosystem in Barcelona and rest of Spain
Outstanding analytical skills and financial understanding
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to approach and build relationships with startup founders and VC peers
Autonomous, self-driven, proactive and oriented to results
Collaborative approach and strong influencing skills
