Who you are

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the HR team for the USA. You will contribute as the key strategic business partner in the effective and consistent delivery of National Human Resources programs that align with corporate goals and business initiatives for the USA.

You are an integral member of the National HR team and will be responsible for guiding and managing dedicated human resources services for all business lines within their region.

You are responsible for the development and delivery of people strategies as they relate to development of goals for their region.

You will also be responsible for overseeing all team members in the HR Business Partner group for their region to deliver on North American people programs and strategies.

You will be a trusted business advisor, change agent and partner to the President & CEO, USA and USA executive team. You will provide support, coaching and expertise to senior leaders and executives within the organization with the intention of building a culture of people leadership excellence across Colliers.

What you bring

  • Degree in Human Resources or Business Administration with 12 -15 years relevant HR experience in a leadership role; must have experience in real estate and project management.
  • Ability to quickly establish credibility and influence with senior leaders, with ability to influence and negotiate.
  • Experience in working with senior leaders to ensure people programs are aligned with financial strategies and goals.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team of HR professionals. Encourages and supports leadership and growth in others.
  • Ability to translate strategic goals into operational / tactical plans for their team to execute on.
  • Leadership experience and strong knowledge of fundamental HR programs and policies is essential.
  • Must have the ability to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate good judgment in resolving issues.
  • Strong customer service orientation with excellent interpersonal and communication skills required.
  • Sound knowledge of applicable employment law, workers compensation and common law litigation.
  • Bonus skills and experience

  • Strong skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Experience with mergers / acquisitions.
