Overview

For our next generation Construction management solution, we have a great opportunity for a product owner. The right person will need to articulate and drive the vision through the various capability teams.

The right applicant will use their experience and understanding of the industry work processes & data flows required to satisfy the current and future requirements being demanded by the market.

Working with our Go to market team help refine the solution scope, limitations, capabilities, performance characteristics, and functional requirements covering the solution.

Whilst the position will need to focus on Construction planning, will also need to work with project controls, project engineering, fabrication and materials management, ensuring we have a simple, efficient and well-integrated solution.

This will require a good understanding of engineering design, procurement and construction practices.

Responsibilities

  • Work with our Industrial Construction Product manager, the Go to market lead, key subject matter experts and technical leads to breakdown the construction planning work processes
  • Goal shall be to get the appropriate level of detail so that a set of proof of concepts can be defined with clear conditions of satisfaction and timeline.
  • In a later stage create a backlog broken down by Epic’s with a level of detail so that it can be executed by the development teams
  • Day to day involvement in supporting assigned scrum teamsAttending daily meetings, ensuring teams have all they need to progress storiesPrioritizing technical debt. vs new features
  • Define product backlog in the form of user stories and manage the execution.Ensure all stories have conditions of satisfactionPrioritize and engage with support, customers and field etc.
  • Ideate with other thought leaders in how we can leverage technology such as IoT, Analytics and AI to provide key differentiators and solutions.
  • Customer & field engagement providing input to the above requirements
  • Help maintain and enhance our demonstration capability
  • Field and customer education on the above through internal and external master classes, consultancy, workshops and technical assistance / direction internally and externally
  • General Activities supporting the above

  • Synthesize and abstract market requirements into Business Themes, Epics and User Stories that capture and articulate the requirements.
  • Analyze user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility and prepare Conceptual Designs that address the requirements in the context of the system architecture.
  • Provide input to overall PPM portfolio design
  • Work closely with PPM product owners to facilitate and harmonize solution direction.
  • Facilitate Customer engagement in Product Planning, Scrum Meetings, and sprint reviews.
  • Guide the development, review, certification, and support experts within an agile development environment to ensure that requirements and concepts are understood, client expectations are met, and requirements are achievable and ultimately delivered to achieve business goals.
  • Qualifications

    Worked in the industry or with software solutions focused on the industrial construction business. This position requires in-depth understanding of the day to day workings during the construction planning of capital projects.

    Expectation of minimum ten years’ experience in this industry.

    Must understand the principles of Construction Management and able to think about practicalities of usage and applicability for today’s customer demands.

    Provides the vision and experience to recognize the capabilities of our software and guide development toward practical application of those capabilities to offer value to our customers.

    In this capacity the applicant will coordinate with our Industrial Construction Product manager, field and Go to Market organizations.

    Able to articulate product features in the way in which they will be used by the end user. Comfortable with Engineering terminology and good knowledge of our current products.

    Able to think above the feature / functions and bridge the gap between business and technology.

    Should be comfortable managing other product owners.

    Location :

    Flexible, important is to have workable time overlaps with development centers in Huntsville Alabama, Hyderabad India and Europe.
