POSITION DETAILS Position Title : Head of Program Management Center of Excellence (CoE) Department : Transformation Office (TO) within the Global Operations

Location : Chatillon, Paris area; Barcelona, Spain; Shannon, Ireland orRedhill (south of London)

Role Type : Permanent DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

The Head of Program Management Center ofExcellence (CoE) develops anddrives AXA Partners Project Management CoE to support theTransformation Program at the global and local level.

The purpose of the CoE is to share and benefit from the best practicesacross the project management community and strengthen project management atthe AXA Partners level for the benefit of the Transformation Program.

The Head of Program Management Center ofExcellence (CoE) will manage a team of around 50 non-IT Project Managers.

She / He will be :

  • In charge of staffing, up skilling and sourcing members, as the members are hierarchically reporting to her / him
  • In charge of maintaining the use of methodological frameworks to ensure the same level of practices & mindset for the people doing the same job.
  • She / He will ensure strong collaboration and connection with key stakeholderssuch as : Head of Transformation, Head of Regions, Head of Business Units (BUs),Head of Change management, AGILE Lead, etc.

    All Project Managers belong to the CoE community in order to benefit fromthe best practices sharing and the Project Management resources.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design, implement, and lead the ProjectManagement Center of Excellence (CoE) to enhance Project Management maturitywithin the BUs and functions among the overall AXA Partners geographies(capabilities, methodologies and synergies) :

  • Lead andfacilitate the Project Management Center of Excellence across BUs / Functions / Geographiesto ensure consistent delivery, best practices sharing, and common projectlevers / synergies amongst project managers
  • Standardizeand champion robust and consistent project management disciplines across theproject Management CoE, based on Agile methodology
  • Supportthe active sharing of lessons learned across the project managers community
  • DevelopProject capabilities in the Transformation community & broader organization
  • Manage thespecific needs, issues, and level of satisfaction within the BUs / functions / Geographiesregarding the CoE.
  • Participate inthe Transformation Office collaboration, governance, and monitoring :

  • Activelycollaborate with the other areas of the Transformation office, including theHead of the Change Management CoE, the Agile Lead, and associated individuals
  • Developregular progress reports on the activities and impact of the Project Managementcommunity for the Head of Transformation and define KPI to demonstrate how theProject Management COE delivers impacts
  • Engageproactively in problem-solving and action planning with the Head of Transformationto drive the Transformation at all levels
  • Contributeto ensure One Team collaboration within the global Transformation Program.
  • Manage, asnecessary, directly some transversal and strategic projects across AXA Partnersto ensure consistency of build / roll out, to secure alignment across alldimensions (BUs, functions, geographies) and the long-term success of thebusiness transformation :

  • EnsureProject Management activities for selected projects from their conceptionto their execution and the realization of their expected benefits, leveragingthe Transformation Program methodologies, liaising with related change managers and AGILE coach :
  • Define and manage the project scopes and identify the appropriatedresources
  • Establish, ensure and facilitate the governance of theprojects
  • Coordinate theactivities of project teams and manage interdependencies between streamsensuring that all initiatives are Agile and in line with the architectural andsafety standards
  • Ensure effectivestakeholder engagement and communication around the project to build cohesion,solidarity and alignment, facilitate strategic arbitrage and enable progress
  • Identify and raise risks early to develop mitigation actions for the program management portfolio
  • Align solutions across dimensions to participate inthe creation of a One AXA Partners .
  • Detect andactivate all the efficiency and synergies levers thanks to best practicesreuse, sourcing optimization and sharing of transversal resources

  • Ensure theoptimization of the resources across the BUs, functions and Geographies throughthe standardization of the practices and roles of the people
  • Identifythe key people able to have a transversal role, share these resources across theBU, functions and Geographies and ensure they are delivering homogenized workin the different areas and in the same quality.
  • Manage anddevelop people providing a relevant career path to the Project Managers withinAXA Partners, as well as defining and launching the sourcing strategy

  • With the support of HR, define adequate career pathand learning solutions to ensure the up skilling of Project Managers
  • Guarantee staffing of Project Managers across theorganization and ensure optimal functioning and synergies across the ProjectManagers CoE
  • Ensure an efficient sourcing by hiring, establishingand reinforcing globally with one ortwo key partners. The aim is to internalizepart of the Project Managers and develop this capability internally.
  • Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary to stayup to date on the latest project management practices for the effectiveperformance of the role

  • Drive the best of project management within AXA Partners by capitalizing on best practices and initiatives, both internal and external to the organization.
  • Maintain a pulse on industry best practice around project management external to AXA Partners by participating in external events such as conferences, meet-ups and dedicated associations.
  • SKILLS ANDEXPERIENCE

    Experience, technical & functional knowledge and skills

  • Significant experience in a similar function and challenges (within aCompany and / or a Consulting firm)
  • Proven experience in aprogram / project management and organization transformation role withorganizational-wide or global impact
  • Recognized expertiseon program / project management and communication approach and methodology
  • Experience in leadingteams and communities of project managers to produce results across large portfolios
  • Proven track record ofstrategically aligning project management, financial, people resources, andother assets, to achieve desired strategic outcomes
  • Experience of workingat senior / executive level in a complex environment, managing multiple transformationprojects
  • Strong workshop facilitation skills and ability to animate differentand large groups of people
  • Strong influentialleadership behaviors to drive alignment, arbitrage and delivery at all levels
  • Strong knowledge of Agile Methodology and budgetmanagement financials reporting
  • Good knowledge of change management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication andpresentation skills
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office
  • Fluent in English.
  • Education and professional qualifications

  • Masters / advanced degree required ideally in business, or related subject
  • PMP Certification would be a plus.
