The Plant Manager is responsible for managing, organizing and directing all operational and production activities of a manufacturing plant, ensuring high performance and the most cost effective and efficient in order to meet the global objectives established by the company, throughout the management of the assigned resources and bearing in mind, at all times, the regulations applying in terms of Quality, Occupational Health and Safety and Environment.
Key accountabilities are : HSE / Quality Compliance Assures that all activities and operations are executed in line with HSE / Quality rules, regulations, procedures, instructions, guidelines, and promotes awareness thereof, including addressing anomalies to others.
Ensures the overall conditions of the plant are compliant with safety rules and regulations to minimize industrial injuries and meet regulatory requirements.
Production Planning and Execution Manages the (operational) activities in the plant, within the applicable Nutreco standards and procedures, in order to achieve an efficient and effective execution plan over multiple shifts.
Directs supervisors in organizing and maintaining production schedules within established procedures and budgets, making sure resources are allocated effectively and assets are fully utilized to produce optimal results.
Ensures the fulfilment of the production planning, defining improvement actions required in case of deviation, ensuring their implementation, in order to achieve optimum plant production service.
Maintenance and repair Oversees the mid and long term maintenance planning for the plant, including budgets Ensures that all maintenance activities (planned maintenance programmes, shut-downs, or emergency repairs) are planned and prioritized in order to prevent / rectify break-downs and malfunctions and minimise business disruptions Ensures that all maintenance activities are performed in such a way that the work can be performed in an efficient and safe manner while minimal impact in production.
To participate in the implementation and maintenance of the Processes standardization. Leadership and people management He / she shares a trusting relationship with the operations and production staff and manages, motivates and coaches them to achieve objectives at optimum productivity and cost levels and takes appropriate action when needed.
Provides leadership to Operations and Production area within the entire plant. Sets individual objectives, reviewing performance and providing ongoing feedback on a(n) (in)formal basis) so that all reports are aware of what they are required to achieve and how they are performing against their objectives.
To lead and coordinate the area team, participating in their selection, proposing their training and development, evaluating their performance and promoting a good working environment in order to achieve the objectives of the area.
Reporting Develops and / or monitors the relevant KPI’s to maintain an insight in the performance of the Plant in the assigned area against the set targets, and to make recommendations to improve performance on SQCDME.
Develops the annual budget for expenses and investments, continuously tracks this budget, analysing deviations and defines action plans to recover and capture opportunities.
Projects and programs Has a clear vision, roadmap and action plan for his / her plant with a horizon of 3-5 years (including CAPEX, costs, investment plans, projects, head count, growth plans, opportunities and threats) to ensure continuous, efficient and sustainable production, assets capacity and flexibility while minimizing unnecessary costs and maintaining quality standards.
He / she will be responsible for the implementation and execution of these initiatives, and delivering the results agreed.
Supports Cluster and OpCo Management in the definition of the operations and production strategy. He / she deploys the agreed strategy through aligned objectives and targets within his / her plant.
To participate in the meetings for Product and Process improvement. To ensure the performance of the Multiskilling and Flexible Working system, throughout the definition of the audit program, ensuring its execution, the continuous staff assessment and the annual staff assessment.
To ensure the overall conditions of the plant (order, cleanliness, quality, productivity, efficiency, etc.).
