Job Description Summary
Floating Wind Turbines Senior Systems Engineer for our Offshore Wind product range. You will be working with our teams to lead and coordinate all aspects of the engineering efforts to meet targets related to the design of the floating variants of our fleet by ensuring alignment within engineering disciplines, negotiating, collaborating and influencing both internally and externally with our clients
In your role as Senior System Engineer you will be the owner for product requirements and achievement of CTQs through the design, taking system level trades and decisions, contribution to and approval of requirements and customer facing technical documents.
You will also provide technical guidance and team support on product and program definition and contribute to continuous improvement in product development processes from conceptualization to validation and certification.

Provide wind turbine system expertise through all phases of product development, from requirements definition through design and development, validation and product life-cycle support.
Your scope will be the adaptation of our current fleet to floating offshore platforms
responsible for interface management between the sub-system of the turbine, requirements flow-down of system level requirements to component level requirements and to the floater (cost, reliability, performance, RAMS, etc), configuration & life-cycle management.
Own the technical quality of the overall wind turbine product.
Interact with customer and floater supplier technical representatives to define best technical trade-offs for the product, optimize floater loads and define shared requirements
Lead technical workstreams of the wind turbine systems development
Lead and / or oversee system conceptual design studies and trade-offs that address product CTQs such as cost, power performance, noise, reliability, operability or develop specific product functionalities
Contribute to and approve system requirements (through Design Memos)
Contribute to and approve customer facing technical documents
Responsible for complex assignments with long-term business implications, impacting the products’ technical success
Establish design strategies for development product functionalities and product performance indicators
Effectively communicate and provide recommendations through analysis, preparation and presentation of technical material to internal and external audiences
Contribute to new and revised design practices
Demonstrate effective risk mitigation and technical problem solving
Drive simplification and standardization of best practices into engineering analyses, validation, and design execution
Drive implementation of control technologies to mitigate mechanical loads & improve turbine power performance targeting LCOE reduction.
Drive simplification in managing high variability of Offshore products targeting multiple regions, regarding design, validation and certifications.
Collaborate with customer facing teams and provide solutions to enhance application space.
Work closely with the Chief Engineering Office across the business and global team members to ensure high quality and consistency on systems design and trade off decisions
Qualifications / Requirements
Master’s degree from an accredited university in Mechanical, Structural or Aeronautical Engineering
Minimum of 10 years of demonstrated experience working in wind turbine product development and technologies
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the design of floating platforms for wind turbines
Expert knowledge on wind turbine component design criteria and wind turbine systems integration
Conceptual design and system-level trade-off experience
Systems oriented thinking
Field issues, test and / or validation experience
Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
Strong technical aptitude
Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects
Ability to break-down complex issues, determine possible courses of action, and enable effective decision making
Experience in wind Turbine Certification Processes
Experience working with LEAN tools and in a LEAN culture
Strong understanding of wind turbine design loads, loads cases and operability strategies to reduce loads
Experience in offshore environments
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
Established project management skills.
Experience and good performance in working in multi-cultural diverse teams
