The Regional Sourcing Specialist responsibilities include implementing the regional sourcing strategies and strategic initiatives defined in conjunction with the Category Managers.
This position will work on the definition and resolution of known or anticipated sourcing initiatives in value, quality, feasibility, and specifications in the procurement of goods and services, while contributing cost savings and other value added activity to support customer needs and expectations.
Leads and implements all strategic sourcing activities related to the indirect commercial categories strategies : IT / Telecom, Meeting and Event, Fleet, Human Resources, Patient Programs, Consulting, Advertising, Public Relations and Professional Services
Utilization of the different e-sourcing tools (Ariba) that the company has.
Meets and partners with senior executives in the different functions related to indirect spend categories to discuss impact of strategic sourcing initiatives on overall business and to develop forward-thinking sourcing strategies
Leads complex supplier selection activities. Ensure creation of robust negotiation strategies and cost targets through understanding of market dynamics, benchmarks and cost trends.
Create forward looking cost projections and measure performance to actuals
Drives supply base optimization and development of the Preferred Supplier Networks
Negotiates and completes contracts with highly complex and critical suppliers.
Partners with suppliers in forward-thinking strategic development and relationship building.
Implements strategies for risk mitigation, business continuity, cost management and operations improvement.
Innovates complex business models, drives associated strategies and influences the supplier market for the different indirect commercial categories
Negotiates contracts and acceptable contracting outcomes using custom solutions. Advises executive level business leaders on all contract risk areas.
Working with EMEA Category Managers, Project Managers, US Purchasing and Affiliates to help support and support with sourcing and negotiation project.
Support Purchasing Category Managers on the supplier data spend profile for the preparation of Category Plans and Profiles
Develop communication plans with the Category Managers for project under his / her responsibility. Assist Category Managers to manage internal AbbVie stakeholders
Ensure compliance of policies, procedures, and regulations. Ensure projects are implemented according to AbbVie wide standards, procedures and regulatory requirements.
Participate to the development of TCO economics. Forecast and report savings achieved through strategic purchasing initiatives.
Measure savings results following project implementation. Report monthly results to PSM Finance.
Define implementation plan by setting up projects plans that meet the agreed strategic sourcing goals. Set priorities, adapt when necessary.
Ensure adequate communication and resource allocation is in place prior to commencing implementation of projects.
Drive the change management process, evaluating impacts from changes and building the required confidence with the stakeholders community.
Establish effective contract performance metrics (KPIs), SLAs and re-establish financial baseline, if required.
Balance flexibility with progress. Adapt change but focus on results. Review corrective action plans with Category Managers if projects are off-track.
Set-up quarterly / annual business reviews with internal stakeholders and suppliers, aiming at tracking continuous improvement initiatives promoting quality standards and profitability, fostering the exchange of ideas and information
Inform key stakeholders from PSM & Affiliates on the implementation progress. Highlight areas of concerns, barriers and potential delays with enough notification time to take corrective actions.
Communicate success, risk and needs.
Develop, maintain and improve relationships and strategies with local and international purchasing.
5 year(s) experience as a Sourcing Specialist or similar roles. Proven ability to develop and implement sourcing linked to purchasing category strategies
Strong record of the ability to handle large negotiation projects. Excellent understanding of global procurement processes and e-sourcing tools (Ariba)
Excellent negotiation, networking and influencing skills. Advanced communication skills, including presentation and excellent negotiation abilities.
Excellent verbal and written communication in English language. Other languages valuable.
Degree in Business Administration, Engineering or similar field.
Subject-matter expertise in sourcing and negotiation, deep understanding of cost structures, market dynamics and suppliers.
Ability of independently drafting custom contract solutions to obtain acceptable outcomes; Ability to close complex deals in a timely fashion.
Advanced business application skills (e.g., Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint) and cost modeling skills. Strong program management skills, incorporating multiple projects
