A vacancy for a Robotics and Automated Systems Senior Engineer has arisen within Airbus in Getafe.

industry. At Airbus we are currently looking into Collaborative Robots / Cobots - robots that work with and alongside human
employees, both sharing the same workspace.
In this context, Airbus is on the lookout for talented Robotics Engineers to join us on a fascinating journey.
Your mission as one of our Robotics Engineers will be to :
¤ Be responsible for architecting, designing, analysing and implementing mechatronic components and systems for lightweight
and mobile modular robotic product lines (multi trademark modules platform).
¤ Set up and release a specification tool builder to enable descoping and reusing of modules for fast and cheap integration.
¤ Troubleshoot from sand box prototypes to final full robotic cell in a fast paced environment to meet tight deadlines.
¤ Review and analyse project requirements, specification, plan, design and installation with the aim to warranty that
requirements are met, and delivered within budget and on time.
Tareas y Misiones principales - Responsabilidades
If you are interested in the finer details of this role, in addition to the above, we expect our Robotic Engineer to :
¤ Implement robotic systems and deployment of robotics in sophisticated applications.
¤ Design and perform test programme to assess all performance types of system including endurance test.
¤ Develop vision systems and integrating image processing application in robotic systems.
¤ Develop close loop system between external devices and real time robot control.
¤ Design and deploy motion control systems, navigation system and path planner in complex applications (e.g. laser SLAM,
stereovision, 3D modelling).
¤ Review / assess planning, control algorithms and dynamic model for multi-link rigid-body robots (e.g., inverse kinematics, PRM).
¤ Review / assess and implement human-machine interaction application (HMI).
¤ Review / assess and implement integration of safety system to enable human and machine sharing same physical environment.
¤ Design mechanical systems for complex automation equipment (e.g. end effector) using systems with servo, harmonic drive,
drive, bearings, pneumatics & transmissions.
¤ Steer trouble shooting, failure analysis and analytical thinking (Software / Hardware).
¤ Use of CAD to create schematics; print detailing and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
¤ Develop and maintain applications able to be hosted within real time embedded system (eg. Vxworks, Linux RT, ROS, etc).

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and experience :
¤ DOers, operational experts able to design and test solutions with a background and experience in Automation, Mechatronics &
¤ At least 5-10 years of experience in a related area.
¤ Experience working on Collaborative Robots / Cobots / Collocated Robots will be valued.
¤ Strong experience designing and deploying Motion Control Systems.
¤ Expertise developing vision systems and integrating image processing application in robotic systems.
¤ Solid algorithm prototyping and coding skills.
¤ Ability to deal with the project requirements, specification, plan, design, test and installation / Commissioning.
¤ Strong working knowledge of Robot Architectures and Control Methodologies.
