During the last decade, the Structural Mechanics & Design (DME) and the Surface Technologies (LTS) research groups from the Faculty of engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea have developed an intensive activity, both in the scientific and industrial community : published more than 200 scientific contributions in journals and conferences while carrying out more than 20 industrial research projects / year.
The candidate will join a research team formed by 15 reasearchers, 3 technicians, 10
PhD candidates and more than 20 graduate and undergraduate research assistants. Some of the research activities that the postdoc candidate will join are :

The successful candidate will hold a PhD in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. The candidate should have a strong background in computational modeling with discrete or continuum methods for solid mechanics.
Expertise in theoretical fracture mechanics or friction / tribology as well as substantial programming experience are desired.
Additionally, excellent communication skills in English (oral and written) are required.
